We had the good fortune of connecting with Jadon Cal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jadon, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking risks might seem like they can lead to failure, loss, or disappointment, but in reality, they are the KEYS to success. The best opportunities I’ve ever come across and had the priviledge of experiencing came directly from “risking” something. Whether it was money, time, relationships, etc.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m always looking for ways to tell stories that impact people in ways that they might not even know or understand. Every acting job I take has an underlying message for me (a justification if you will) of why I take the job, even if it’s in a genre that might not seem like the type to bring people a new revelation in life.

In terms of my writing, I believe what sets me apart is honesty through and through. I strive to be the most authentic to myself, as well as the characters and the worlds I create / inhabit in the creative space.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’d go surf Malibu’s Surf Rider Beach, for sure. I’d take them to CanyonBack Trail, then I may take them to the Desert Five Spot, which is probably the only club that plays country music, that I’ve ever come across.

I’d also take them to some of the other scenic views in the area, like Mulholland Drive. That view is impeccable.

In terms of food, I’d say let’s experiment. I never really like to revisit things I’ve experienced unless it is the best of the best. I’d try new places. Although, Squirl is a great breakfast spot.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shoutout my family, my parents especially. Jodi Knotts and Jim Fitzpatrick have been VITAL to my success thus far! The most supportive parents who helped me along the way of the struggling artist’s journey, and who have encouraged me to keep at it! I don’t know where I’d be without them.
