Meet Natalie Barbu | Content Creator and Founder of Rella

We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Barbu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natalie, what do you attribute your success to?
The most significant factor behind my success and that of my brand is unwavering perseverance. Whether that has been with my social media or my business – perseverance has been the driving force that kept me going even when faced with doubts and challenges. I didn’t give up when things were not looking up.
My advice to those starting their journey: Never underestimate the power of persistence. Keep moving forward, even when the path seems uncertain. If you look at successful businesses and successful entrepreneurs, the one thing they have in common is grit. They kept going even when they didn’t see instant results.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a content creator and founder of Rella.
I started on YouTube in the early days of 2011. Even though it was not a career for me, I continued to post content and slowly built my community of 380,000+ people. I was able to take it full-time in 2019. I launched my company, Rella with 2 co-founders in 2022.
Rella is a direct result of my experiences as a content creator. What sets Rella apart is our commitment to providing creators with a holistic solution to manage their content and business effectively. You can clearly see that Rella was made by a creator.
Getting to this point hasn’t been a straightforward or easy path. Like many entrepreneurs, I encountered numerous challenges along the way. It required a significant leap of faith to leave my consulting job to pursue content creation full-time.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of perseverance, as I mentioned earlier. It’s about embracing setbacks as opportunities for growth and continually adapting to the evolving landscape of content creation.
Additionally, building Rella from the ground up was a learning experience in itself. We faced hurdles in terms of product development, securing funding, and navigating the intricacies of the startup world. But with each challenge, we became more resilient and resourceful, and we’ve emerged stronger as a result.
What I want the world to know is that Rella is not just a platform; it’s a labor of love born out of a deep understanding of the struggles creators face. We are dedicated to empowering content creators to take control of their content and business, helping them thrive in a competitive digital landscape.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For a trip to Miami with my best friend, I’d make sure to include:
– Beach Day
Arrival and a relaxing day at Miami Beach.
– Art and Culture
Explore the Wynwood Walls and visit PAMM for contemporary art.
– Coral Gables + Coconut Grove
Explore the Mediterranean architecture of Coral Gables and visit Cocowalk.
And of course lots of Cuban food + coffee!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The community that has followed me for the past decade. Nothing in my career would have been possible without them.
