Meet Sandra Corcuera | Tv & Radio host, Therapist, Singer-songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandra Corcuera and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sandra, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always wanted to venture into entrepreneurship. I’ve tried many things in various fields, abandoned some projects, started others—both solo and with other people. It’s been a journey of trial and error, primarily about getting to know myself and figuring out what I enjoyed and found most engaging enough to turn into a sustainable business over time.
I usually have multiple projects in progress, and the level of attention and energy I give to each one depends on how I feel at the moment. I’m super creative, and new ideas pop into my head daily, sometimes creating a bit of a jumble, haha.
Currently, I’m focusing on teaching some of my favorite disciplines; therapeutic tarot, Access Consciousness, etc. I offer both online and in-person classes, personalized sessions, I have my own podcast “Los Alquimistas”, and create content for social media to communicate my message, as well as working with the media as radio and tv host.
And I haven’t ruled out music, even though it’s not as prominent right now. I’m still composing and open to performing live or recording new songs if the opportunity arises. The best opportunities have come up when I least expected them.
In reality, my projects have chosen me, not the other way around. I’ve followed my intuition and recognized the signs. As I’ve become more aware of these signals, I’ve made better decisions. At the beginning of my current venture, there was no grand plan; it unfolded naturally and grew on its own. I became increasingly enthusiastic as it took shape, and then I worked on improving and expanding it. And I’m still at it. I have ideas for further expansion, but I’m not sure if something else might come my way at some point. I have plans, but I also live in the present. I keep in mind that life can surprise me, so I’m not too attached to those plans. And I’m changing as well.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always wanted to be many things since I was a child, and so far, I’ve made it happen. My career has been mainly in the field of media as a radio host and TV host, nearly 30 years now. I’ve worked for some of the biggest radio stations and TV networks in Spain and Mexico, such as Los 40 Principales, Televisa, Unicable, TV Azteca, Grupo Fórmula, and more. I’ve had highly successful programs with massive audience levels (Anda Ya, La Taquilla, Ritmoson…). I’ve interviewed top Latin music stars worldwide, represented my enterprise at events like the Latin Grammys and Billboard, and broadcasted major concerts and live shows to over 60 countries, among other things.
I’m extremely proud because I did it in Spain, and then I started over in Mexico and did it all over again. It’s been a challenging journey because I’ve always followed my instincts, and my mind often told me it was a kamikaze act and that I wouldn’t make it, but that wasn’t the case. Starting a second career in a foreign country when you come from one where you were doing well doesn’t seem to make much sense, haha.
I arrived in Mexico at the age of 30 and wanted to form a pop-rock band, and so I did. I recorded my songs, sang them, and performed on many stages in different countries. Then, I ventured solo, and it went even better. I went on tour as a guest artist with one of Mexico’s most respected rock bands, La Gusana Ciega, and performed on big stages, also as an opener or guest for international artists like Ana Torroja, Paty Cantú, or Rosana.
The pandemic arrived, and I revealed my therapist side, starting to offer online personal growth and meditation courses. I specialized in therapeutic tarot (not for predicting the future but for personal work), and today I have hundreds of students and clients in various countries and continents.
I moved to the USA this summer, and new challenges are on the horizon, both as a communicator, therapist, teacher, and musician.
The biggest challenges: not listening to others and buying into their fears and judgments. Also, understanding the culture of other countries and adapting to their way of working. Mixing my various passions and talents remains a challenge as well because, if it were up to me, I’d do everything at once, but time is limited; I only have 24 hours like everyone else, haha.
I tend to experience burnout, so I have to be careful about setting limits for myself. Sometimes I have to set aside certain projects for a while to focus on others. This way, I can breathe life into all of them.
In the end, they are all parts of me, and I don’t think I could completely reject any of them, so I search for balance based on what I’m feeling or needing.
Out of everything I’ve learned along the way, the most important thing is to do what truly expands me, what I like and what makes me happy, even if it’s challenging at times, even if it means giving up other things, and even if it seems like I’m going against the flow of the world. I believe we would all be more successful and happier if we learned to listen to ourselves.
If there’s one thing I’d like people to take away from everything I do, it’s that I always give my best and do it from the heart.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Let’s say I’d take you to some of my favorite spots in a few of the cities I’ve lived in.
In Barcelona, I’d take you for a stroll down Paseo de Gracia towards Plaza Cataluña and then down Las Ramblas to the port. We’d go rollerblading along the Barceloneta beach and have a meal at a beachside chiringuito with some shandy.
In Madrid, I’d walk you through Gran Vía, visit the Rastro market in La Latina on Sundays, and have some tapas with a few glasses of wine – the calamari sandwich is a must.
In Mexico City, I’d take you to Chapultepec Castle; the history within its walls is absolutely fascinating. We’d wander through La Condesa and its parks, have chilaquiles for breakfast, and go for a snack at Salem, my favorite café with its mystical decor, magical shop, and simultaneous witch school. I’ve done tarot readings there while sipping on some magical brew.
And here in Cleveland, where I currently live, we’d definitely visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. On a sunny day, even in winter, we’d go to the shores of Lake Erie to see it frozen.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Some of my wildest ideas were initially supported by my parents, who are just as adventurous and crazy as me, haha. I’m very grateful for that. I probably wouldn’t have done half the things I’ve done if they hadn’t encouraged me.
Many people have crossed my path and opened the doors to an alternative reality, one where I don’t have to follow everyone else’s rules but can create my own. Above all, they helped me believe in magic and in myself.
One of the most transformative tools I’ve ever encountered that has led me to a place of infinite possibilities in my life is Access Consciousness. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.
