We had the good fortune of connecting with Vic Salazar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vic, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I cook a lot at home with premade sauces and seasons i make throughout the year. Whatever flavor I’m into at the time can become a new dish. And with that idea in mind I wanted to simplify and enhance the flavor of my home meals with the ease of adding a sprinkle or spoonful of a now Somedaze product.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Over the past decade, I’ve honed my skills in some of Los Angeles’ trendiest restaurants. Now, I’m venturing into the world of condiments and embracing the challenges with enthusiasm. It’s been a fascinating learning experience, navigating the intricacies my business path which I hope will keep growing. Our goal is simple: empower everyone to craft extraordinary meals with a touch of our unique flavors.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Hmmm this is a though one, there’s so many cool spots.
I’d start the day with a bourbon vanilla latte and pastry from Found Coffee in Eagle rock. Start the day on a positive note. Maybe a little stroll around the Silverlake Reservoir to burn off those cookies and croissants.
For lunch, Wat Dong Moon Lek in East Hollywood is where it’s at! Their beef noodles. *chefs kiss*
To bring the day to a close, Mirate in Los Feliz for dinner and drinks. My go to spot recently.
honorable mentions:
Casita Del Campo and De Buena Planta in silverlake, chill vibes and delightful drinks.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
SomeDaze exists thanks to the unwavering support of my partner, Candice. She’s been my taste-tester, experiencing an abundance of flavors, from the funk to funky.
