Meet Spencer Morgan | Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Spencer Morgan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Spencer, why did you pursue a creative career?
My “why” is always changing. When I first started out, it was because I loved the rush I got from performing live in front of an audience. I loved to make other people laugh and make a fool of myself. My “why” now is because I am fascinated, and curious, about the human experience. I also just have a big imagination. There is this part of me that loves to just dress up, do a different voice, and walk differently.. Just because I find it exciting to tap into different parts of myself or be someone completely different. I don’t know any other career where you can be a serial killer, a love interest, a police officer, or a spy. We get to be all these professions we wanted to be as kids and that is pretty fantastic.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been a Television and Film Actor for the last decade in Los Angeles. I am what some might recognize as a “character actor” or a “character type”, meaning I am not your Drop Dead Gorgeous Ripped Marvel Superhero , but rather that guy who has something off about him. Maybe i’m the creep, or the lovable loser, etc. I am so grateful for my look, because it has always been easy to place me. I am in a category that I very much enjoy. I get to play the most fascinating characters with a lot of depth to them.
The last couple years have been a dream to be honest with you. From not working, to my first supporting role in major studio film (Babylon, directed by Damien Chazelle for Paramount Pictures) the Netflix Film “We Have a Ghost” followed by signing with current manager Chris Roe. It was like ‘oh where did that come from?’ but it was all the pressure that was applied over the last 10 years, and this is just the start. I want to attribute this to sticking around long enough to see even a sliver, or maybe my work ethic, but I think it comes down to aging into myself and also taking care of my mental health.
Now after ending our 118 day strike against the AMPTP, and volunteering my time as a Strike Captain with SAG-AFTRA. am very excited to get back out there and start writing, creating content.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Los Angeles has so much to offer. A perfect day to me is spent at the museum (The Hammer, MOCA, LACMA), I also really love going to Alfred’s Coffee Shop on Melrose reading a book that i’ve picked up from The Last Bookstore in Downtown LA. I love community, me and my friends have monthly picnics at The Old Zoo where we all bring something to snack on, play some music, and it’s always a great time. I am also known to host some pretty fun game nights at my place for those of us that are competitive.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This is dedicated to my family and my “tribe”. I have so many incredible family members and friends as well as the team of people (my manager, my agent, my acting coaches, etc.) who help keep me mentally and professionally fit.
