We had the good fortune of connecting with Nazar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nazar, why did you pursue a creative career?
It was a hard decision to make but it was much needed in my life. After being graduated ( I have an international business master’s degree). I have tried to work (like 9/5) but it was not for me…working in an office and doing the same tasks everyday with the same people was really hard for me. And I think I was frustrated to be in this position and not doing what I really love because I am truly passionate about dance. Also, I had to deal with my health issues (thyroid cancer) and after that I was 100% sure to pursue an artistic career. Today I have no regrets.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I am a professional dancer and choreographer from Paris, France (middle east backgrounds from my parents). I can say that I have a special and deep story. It was not easy to move in LA 2 years ago. We have to work on a special visa (01 visa alien – extraordinary abilities) so the immigration agents have to consider that you have all the criterias to define you as an “alien” artist (examples of criterias : press/articles, be able to judge other dancers, pay stubs with high salaries, portfolio with all the big jobs, some recommandations letters, have a sponsor like an agency etc…).

The lessons I have learned along the way are : be authentic and be real as much as you can and you will win. Never stop to learn from others. I use to teach but I will always be a student. I need inspirations everytime and it’s my strength.

What I want the world to know about my story is : never give up. When I was in Paris many people have tried to discourage me to come in LA they said “You can not do something with your body type” , ” you are not too young you had to go there before it’s too late now” but I found peace when I started to choose myself and try to achieve my goals and my dreams. Realizing that choosing yourself changed my life. It was hard not to get support for my projects but I am not gonna lie but it gave me more power and motivation because when all those people said I can not do it, I love to say I am doing twice and I take pics. This year, I had the opportunity to work with Bad Bunny (grammy awards), Jason Derulo (for a commercial) and Snoop Dogg (MV). I could never have imagined that this could happen when I was in France. And I know it’s Just the beggining because I have many goals to achieve. So, never give up!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I really love hiking. Nature and outdoors are my favorite parts of this city and especially to watch the city from the top, going to the beach and walking in Venice and Santa Monica. Also even if it’s little bit far I would take them to Joshua Tree, visiting Hollywood sign, Hollywood boulevard of course and the Observatory. Also, shopping and going to outlets stores and eat some middle eastern food (Carrousel is one of the best restaurants for me in LA).

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Big shoutout to the people who helped me to grow in my dance Journey : Zoher and Liliane my first teachers, Mamson, my house dance mentor, Kany; my big sister in the dance industry who helped to move in LA, Dean; one of my closest friend who encourage me a lot and helping me to have a better physique condition. Also, my favorite Hiphop choreographer in the industry, Luther Brown, who inspires me and who support me.
