Meet Andorian DJ Beatific” Ramsey | Owner of Beatific Entertainment”

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andorian “DJ Beatific” Ramsey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andorian “DJ Beatific”, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting ‘Beatific Entertainment’ was a natural evolution of my passion for music and a desire to create unique experiences. My journey as a DJ in LA and SF, engaging with diverse crowds and flipping genres effortlessly, revealed a gap in the market for a DJ service that wasn’t just about playing music, but about creating an atmosphere. I realized that there was a demand for a DJ who could blend different styles and vibes to cater to a sophisticated, upper-middle-class audience, particularly among African American socialites in the LA area.
My experience in the industry, coupled with my modest but engaged social media following, showed me that there was a community eager for the kind of energy and creativity I bring to events. Whether it’s clubs, weddings, or exclusive events, I wanted to offer something that wasn’t just a playlist but a live remix experience.
Also, having won ‘Best Wedding DJ’ thrice, I recognized my strength in curating music that resonates with diverse groups. This encouraged me to take the leap and establish a brand that stands for professionalism, fun, and a multicolored experience. My brand, ‘Beatific Entertainment,’ is more than just a DJ service; it’s about creating an immersive experience that leaves a lasting impression.
Additionally, my entrepreneurial spirit was driven by the desire to have more creative control and to build a legacy. The goal was not just to dominate the LA urban DJ scene but to gain nationwide recognition and eventually venture into owning clubs. With ‘Beatific Entertainment,’ I see a path to achieving these aspirations.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My journey as a DJ and the essence of ‘Beatific Entertainment’ are deeply rooted in the art of creating immersive musical experiences. My approach sets me apart: it’s not just about playing tracks, but about crafting an atmosphere that connects with the audience on a deeper level. This involves intuitively blending genres, remixing live, and responding to the energy of the room, ensuring every event is unique and unforgettable.
I am particularly proud of being recognized as ‘Best Wedding DJ’ multiple years consecutively. This accolade reflects my commitment to bringing joy and creating memorable experiences for my clients. It’s a testament to my ability to understand and resonate with diverse audiences.
My path to where I am today professionally was filled with challenges, but each hurdle was an opportunity for growth. As a Type One diabetic, balancing health and professional demands has been a significant part of my journey. This personal challenge has inspired me to give back, not just to diabetic research, but also to other causes.
One such cause close to my heart is DIVA’s Simply Singing, an initiative I’ve been honored to contribute to. This work, along with my efforts in supporting diabetic research, underscores my belief in the power of giving back. I firmly believe in the principle of putting out good karma – what I contribute to the community comes back in many forms, including the success and recognition I’ve received.
Throughout my career, the importance of authenticity, resilience, and community support has been clear. Drawing inspiration from figures like my grandfather Larry Troutman and Uncle Roger Troutman, and supported by the encouragement of my followers and peers, I’ve navigated the complexities of the music industry while staying true to my vision.
‘Beatific Entertainment’ is more than a DJ service – it’s a representation of creativity, diversity, and the joy of music. It’s about making a difference, not just through the music we play but also in the wider community. My story and brand stand as a testament to the belief that with passion, hard work, and a spirit of giving, one can transform their art into a powerful vehicle for both personal success and community betterment.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting LA for a week, I’d make sure to give them the ultimate Hollywood experience. We’d start with breakfast at my place, then take a morning walk on Hollywood Boulevard, checking out the Walk of Fame and TCL Chinese Theatre. For lunch, I’d take them to The Gathering Spot, a great spot for networking and good food. In the afternoon, we’d hike up to the Hollywood Sign for those classic LA views. Dinner would be at TAO, one of my favorite spots for Pan-Asian cuisine, followed by a night out at Station 1640, which is one of the best clubs around.
The next day, we’d spend the whole day at Universal Studios Hollywood, enjoying the rides and attractions. We’d grab quick bites inside the park and keep the evening relaxed, maybe with a light meal at a nearby place. Day three would be more laid-back, with late morning shopping at the Beverly Center, and then dinner at Beauty & Essex. I love their ambiance and cuisine.
On the fourth day, we’d take it easy, maybe exploring the city or just relaxing, and then have dinner at Catch LA. I always enjoy their seafood and vibrant atmosphere. The evening would be open, potentially catching a live show or some music. Day five would be about experiencing Hollywood’s nightlife. We’d start with dinner at LA Cafe and then head to The Highlight Room or Ballet Hollywood for a great night out.
The sixth day would be more about local exploration. We’d brunch at Mama Shelter and then spend the day discovering some hidden gems in Hollywood. I’d keep the evening casual, enjoying the local vibe. Finally, on the seventh day, we’d have a farewell brunch at a place that’s meaningful to me, spend a leisurely afternoon in Hollywood, and then have a quiet night to reflect on the week’s adventures.
This week would be the perfect blend of sightseeing, culinary experiences, and the vibrant nightlife of Hollywood, all within walking distance from where I live, making it a convenient and truly immersive LA experience.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My journey with ‘Beatific Entertainment’ has been deeply influenced by a tapestry of remarkable individuals and experiences. At the heart of this journey is my mother, whose resilience in the face of Lupus has been a beacon of strength and determination. Her ability to persevere and achieve her goals, despite her illness, has been a profound source of inspiration for me.
My own experience as a Type One diabetic has not only shaped my personal life but also my professional endeavors. It has led me to organize events dedicated to diabetic research and innovation, a cause close to my heart. These events are more than just about music; they’re a platform for making a meaningful difference in the diabetic community.
I owe a special gratitude to my grandfather, Larry Troutman, and my Uncle Roger Troutman. Their successful careers in the music industry, driven by creativity and talent, have shown me that it’s entirely possible to carve out a successful and fulfilling career based on one’s artistic gifts. They’ve been a testament to the power of pursuing one’s passion and succeeding.
The support and engagement from my followers on social media, especially the overwhelming response from the Clubhouse community, have been pivotal in my journey. Reaching millions and receiving fan mail from around the world has not only been humbling but also affirming of the impact and reach of my work.
My time at Howard University has also played a crucial role in my development. The culture, connections, and learning experiences there have been integral in molding my perspective as a DJ and an entrepreneur.
Additionally, the collaboration and trust from various event organizers and promoters have been key to my growth and exposure in the industry, enabling me to reach broader audiences and hone my craft.
Each of these elements – my personal challenges, family influences, academic experiences, digital community support, and professional collaborations – have been instrumental in my journey. They’ve provided me with the strength, inspiration, and opportunity to not only succeed in my career but also to contribute meaningfully to causes that are important to me.
