We had the good fortune of connecting with Lamondo Hill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lamondo, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued an artistic career because realized it was my calling but most importantly the journey I am on is bigger than me. My goal is to inspire the world to be better and do better with my art.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As an actor I believe everyone bring a unique skillset because we are all unique in our own way. What sets me apart from most in my mentality and work ethic. The road to where I am currently has been filled with difficulties, hardship, pain and emotional turmoil but I wouldn’t take it back because it has brought to where I am currently. Anything worth pursing is difficult and this career as a actor and entertain is I would say is the poster child to that. To say it is hard to become successful in this business without connections in a understatement. I have overcome many challenges thus far and I believe I have been able to do so with a strong faither, sharp mind and having positive people around to help remind me of how great or strong I am in what it is I do. Some of the key lessons I have learned along the way are, not everyone will like you and that’s okay, trust your gut, remain humble always, your word is everything and lastly relationships are the most valuable currency in the world. I want the world to know I want to leave a great mark in this world before my time is done through my art. Helping other’s see their full potential and understating their limits are only what they create in their mind.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is based on places I have actually been. I would tell them to take a trip to Marine Del Ray and find a place to stay. Then to travel down Santa Monica, Malibu, and San Diego. Visit all the beaches you can if the weather is nice and go for a swim. I don’t know many night clubs but food spots to hit up would be Pink Taco, Katsuya, Bike Shed (get the breakfast pancakes), Bob’s Big boy, Urth Caffe, 464 and True Food Kitchen.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Sterling Norman Anderson, the man who started me on this path.
