We had the good fortune of connecting with Emilea Rivera Dargert and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emilea, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Honestly, every job I’ve ever had has been in the creative arts, I’ve never had a desk job or a 9-5. My very first job was at Tower Records, then a myriad of event and theatre jobs until I found myself in the film industry, but I was still searching for something more fulfilling. A few years ago I decided to take stock of any common threads that brought me fulfillment and what I realized was that in all these jobs whenever co-workers had a problem or dilemma they needed help with they came to me, and through intuition or spiritual learnings I was able to help them. I saw that this was my path, to serve others in navigating their path forward with practical tips and tools that were unearthed through tarot readings, chakra alignments, crystal healings and my online programs.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I would say the biggest lesson I’ve learned is that you really do have to trust the universe. I know a lot of people say that but it’s so true and it’s impossible to prove to someone until it has happened to them. If you had asked me 5 years ago, do you see yourself working professionally as an energy healer helping people over difficult situations in their lives by utilizing multiple forms of divination, I would have laughed. But here I am and that is exactly what I do. I help others through chakra mediumship, tarot readings, crystal healings, dowsing, alchemy, and other modalities, but each of these layers started as something that simply peaked my interest and developed into a way to operate my business. Not that it was easy, but when I finally released the idea of what I thought my professional life was “suppose” to be and I let it play out as the universe wanted, I found so much joy and purpose. So if something seems interesting to you, check it out, you never know where it might lead you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I might be a little too spontaneous for an itinerary but some must do’s would be to get some exercise with a hike in Griffith Park and a couple hot yoga classes at The Ritual in Westlake. For a really nice dinner have to go to Otium downtown. Great happy hour go to Novo Cafe Westlake. Or for a chill night go to The Alley in Moorpark and get a glass of wine at Lucas Sellers.
For a beach day, head to Ventura or Oxnard because it’s not as crowded and you can bring your dogs (I have 3). Downtown Ventura is super cute and lots of great restaurants and boutique shopping.
For an overnight trip definitely head to Ojai and get lost in the nature.
And if you’re available, book a sound bath with Erika at Healing Oak crystals in Simi Valley.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Not to sound cliche but there truly has been so many people who have helped me get to where I am at and continue to support my endeavors. Since a young age my parents and family have instilled the entrepreneurial spirit in me. My husband, while not totally understanding all aspects of what I do, continues to support me because he sees how happy I am while doing this work. I have also been blessed with some amazing mentors.
Jason D McKean, who not only submitted me for this article but who has over the years and continues to be one of my biggest advocates by presenting me opportunities that push me outside my comfort zone and into my growth zone.
Elena Bray, who from day one has been the best cheerleader I could ask for while also building multiple businesses herself.
And Susan Tooker, who now watches over me from the other realm, but she is the one who showed me that magic is real.
