Meet Jonathan Leon | Voice Actor and Musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonathan Leon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jonathan, why did you pursue a creative career?
There was no other choice. I have never felt more alive than doing the things that make me happy. Voice acting, making music, dancing. The purpose of life is to live, and I wouldn’t be living how I truley want to if I were to do anything else.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My love of art stems from my creativity. As a kid and all through growing up, my creativity was always one of my strongest assets. And although it is a very important trait professionally, creativity thrives in the arts. It all started at a theater summer camp that I didn’t even want to go to. Ironically I fell in love with performing and studied it through high school and college. In college, I also started dabbling in music and music production. Although initially a separate skill, after college when covid hit, I used my audio production skills to make voice reels and sent them out to dozens of agencies. I heard back from only one of them. Now I’m happily represented by CESD Voice. It has taken time, luck, and work to get where I am, and I am extremely grateful for every opportunity I have ever gotten. The quickest way to get where you wanna be is slowly but surely. So don’t judge where you are in you’re career, or how long it’s taken. There is no universal timeline. learn to be ok with yours.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As an introvert, my good times usually take place at home. but I also love hikes and the Beach at night. So there would definitely be a fair amount of those.
All my friends and I are massive foodies, so that’s what would mostly take up our time. assuming we eat at one restaurant a day, here is the list of places I would take them
Pho Daily (Gardena) – it’s a (basically) 24-hour Vietnamese spot that always hits.
Hells Chicken (Tujunga) – Spicy chicken spot. Known for its heavy spice and seasonings.
Cheeba Hut (North Hollywood) – a phenomenal sandwich shop that JUST opened up (please go support).
Meat Love (K-Town) – An all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ place. Great quality meats for its price. Highly Reccomend.
Tsujita LA Artisan Noodle (LA) – Best ramen in town. It’s a tonkatsu dipping ramen. Go early it fills up very quickly.
Tacos Guelaguetza (Tujunga) – A taco stand outside of a Vons. As a Mexican, I can confirm the best Mexican food comes from food stands and trucks.
Din Tai Fung (any location) – Some of the best soup dumplings you can find in town.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My life is a giant mixture of a bunch of things that make me who I am today. I have a fair amount of things to be grateful for.
Shoutout to my agency, CESD Voice! My career would be nowhere without their help. Special thanks to Sam and Cathey. Thank you for taking a chance on me and taking the time to properly guide me when I first started. I have grown exponentially because of yall. Nothing but appreciation for all my agents.
Shout out to my family, friends, and girlfriend for their constant belief, support, and reassurance. Special shoutout to my mom. She is my spiritual/life coach and has taught me so many things that have absolutely changed the way I navigate through life. I am extremely lucky to have such knowledge being taught to me by someone who truly loves and believes in me.
Lastly, shout out to the book “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle. There truly is nothing more important than this moment. If you are craving and ready for change, I HIGHLY recommend it. This book has completely changed the way I navigate through pain and how I choose to live my life.
