Meet Jason Briggs | Contractor and life long learner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Briggs and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jason, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind our success is our employees. It took a while in our company to understand the importance of being satisfied in the work that we do for each team member. The employee is the face of a company and if they are taken care of as best we are able to then the client will be taken care of as well. Employees have a significant impact on the culture and reputation of a company. We are solicited nearly every day on some sort of marketing idea and I’ve always found it interesting that none of those solicitors talk about the importance of the employees in a companies brand and image.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I joined the California Army National Guard at 18 years old on a whim and ended up staying in for 33 years. Among the many values I learned in the Army was the value of education. While I learned many skills, the Army would lead me to earning my undergraduate in finance, a Master of Business Administration, a Master’s in Strategic Studies and I’m currently a doctoral candidate. While most of my education is not directly related to the swimming pool industry it has provided me with a set of skills that have had a significant impact on what I can do for our company and our clients. We service, repair, remodel, design and build swimming pools and similar aquatic features. I also work as an expert witness for construction defects for swimming pools and similar aquatic features.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were to visit the area the first place we would go is the beach. We are lucky to live so close to such a majestic place. Sticking with the beach we could have lunch on Pier Avenue in Hermosa beach and dinner in the Hollywood Riviera. To soak in much of the Los Angeles culture I would take my friend to places like Hollywood and China Town. One night we might go to a concert or sporting event at the SoFi stadium or the Crypto Arena.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
For a small business owner the people around you have the most impact on your success and shape you and your company. I’ve been lucky enough to have a supportive wife and daughters. A business partner that is constantly looking for ways to improve and innovate. Employees that want to contribute to our success and are proud to belong to our company. My time in the California Army National Guard has exposed me to many of the greatest leaders of people I could have worked with and learned from.
