Hi Maria, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I spent my childhood on a small farm in Southwest Wisconsin, where my love for nature and freedom blossomed. Exploring the outdoors, digging in the soil, and gathering dried plants laid the foundation for my future company. Growing our own food and knowing where the ingredients came from was an important piece in my upbringing.

Currently I reside on a small farm near Madison, Wisconsin. To this day, I continue to grow my own food and gather plants for my artisan skincare products. Formulating intentionally is a key aspect of my indie brand. My passion for sourcing healing plants inspired my skincare line, Luminous Rose, which addresses common skin concerns like acne, aging, and dryness. My customers value the transparency of knowing the origins of their skincare products.

What should our readers know about your business?
My skincare brand is deeply personal, reflecting my heart and values. I formulate safe and healthy skincare products using plant-based ingredients, with formal training in organic skincare science from the European Union. Unlike many skincare brands that outsource production, I personally research, formulate, and hand-pour all my products, making it a unique approach in the industry. This hands-on process, though limiting in production capacity, is appreciated by customers who value the personal touch and direct communication with me.

In addition to skincare, I am also an astrologer, intertwining cosmic elements into my brand. The connection between plants and planets inspire my skincare creations, offering a distinctive perspective to my products.

Recently, I fulfilled a significant milestone by opening my own formulation lab and physical store. My brick and mortar provides a space for customers to share their skincare concerns openly. This establishment has evolved into a nurturing environment where I can share my passion, connect with customers and create a safe space for skincare discussions.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Our small farm offers a mini escape in itself. I would suggest a cook out with fresh picked vegetables and ice cream from Sassy Cow Creamery. We would spend an overnight under the stars in our geodome. The next day, we’d venture to Devil’s Lake State Park for an early morning hike and maybe some kayaking fun. Madison is a treasure to discover! We’d kick off the day with a delicious breakfast at Marigold’s Kitchen, then take a leisurely stroll around the Dane County Farmers’ Market. As the sun sets, we’d dine at Eno Vino with a breathtaking view of the state capitol, ending the night with a charming walk down State Street.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband has been incredibly supportive in nurturing my business ideas. He assists with tasks like shipping and wholesale operations behind the scenes. I feel lucky to have my life partner also collaborating with me in business. Additionally, my community is vital to my accomplishments. Their trust in me is the reason I can provide exceptional products.
