Meet Aline Humbert | Actress

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aline Humbert and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aline, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I could have done something else, obviously. I wanted to become an orthodontist like my mom when I was younger. I then watched Pirates of the Caribbean and decided to be a pirate. Later, I decided I wanted to be a journalist to tell stories and be in the action. Then, I decided I would work in fashion because of The Devil Wears Prada. At some point, I wanted to be a lawyer because of Legally Blond and How To Get Away With Murder. Then I thought of physics because of the Big Bang Theory. I initially specialized in sciences in high school because I wanted to be a neurosurgeon or an ME because of Dana Delany in Body of Proof. Whenever I chose a career for my future self, I would be disappointed because the reality of it looked nothing like what it was on screen. I realized I didn’t want to have one of these characters’ occupations in real life. I wanted to live their dramatized life. I wanted to be a character.
And when I started training, I fell in love with all of it. Today, nothing else brings me that much joy.
A few years ago, I obtained a law bachelor’s degree in parallel with my acting. But even if I really enjoyed learning new things, nothing compares to acting to me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Getting where I’m at today was not easy! First, I enrolled in an acting school in France. I survived the three years, continued working for them, and prepared the French National Conservatory. Unfortunately, I wasn’t accepted into the National program, but that allowed me to come to the USA! Rejection is a massive part of being an actor; you get used to it and understand that each of them is another step you take to get where you are supposed to go. Coming to the US was more challenging than preparing for the concourses in France: I had to take care of the visa and also find funds since training is way cheaper where I come from. But I did it! What is so exciting about acting is that each job is entirely different. Whether you’re on camera or on stage, you use different skills. Everyone has their own ways and techniques to get in character or work a scene. Learning more about what others do and mixing it into your own process is really fun. It’s always moving, and nothing is set in stone. It’s incredibly exciting.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Actually one of my best friends is coming to visit soon and we have a whole program! Everyone coming to LA should at least see the Hollywood sign, and if you have time I would absolutely recommand doing the hike there. After all nothing says LA like a hike, except maybe an avocado toast! The Laurel Canyon hike is also a very nice one. You will have amazing views!
Universal Studios is a lot of fun and if you do everything it will easily take you a full day.
After that you can go to Venice Beach to stroll, get a tan and even get henna.
Disneyland should definetely go on the list, after all the one in california is the very first Disney Park, and their Star Wars extension is quite impressive.
For brunch, I’m a big fan of Breakfast Republic.
And concerning night life, I’m a sucker from speakeasies. No Vacancy and Good times at Davey Wayne’s are both good choices.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
So many people deserve recognition from me! My Mom, Therese Aurich, who has been supporting me unconditionally since day one.
My friends in France, especially Ophelie Legrand and Andrea Sertillange, who have had my back and helped me a lot.
The two schools I was trained at: Le Cours Florent in Paris, France and The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in LA, who taught me everything.
Walid Chaya and his Studio for Performing Arts LA for their help and guidance in adapting to LA’s industry.
Timea Laczko, Jutta Charbonnier, and Andres Garcia who are always ready to start new projects with me.
And so many more!
