Hi Tasha-Nicole, we’d love to hear about a book that’s had an impact on you.
I recently became an Award Winning Author and Publisher of a children’s book titled, “A Tree for Me.” I have to say, that it’s my favorite book! I have never known any biological family. For so long, I searched for and yearned for unconditional love from the outside world. What I discovered over time is that the love, strength, and support I craved were, in fact, mine to give. I look forward to doing storytime with Tasha-Nicole for children all over the world! Reading the book to them and talking with them about unconditional love, nature and nurture. I want to guide them towards looking within for the answers in life. Leading them to follow their heart more often and to choose kindness over fear whenever possible.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I feel that many things set “A Tree for Me” apart. Gender and race neutral, the book proudly upholds the values of inclusivity, embracing readers of all backgrounds, genders, and races. It seeks to awaken within its readers a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and the boundless potential that resides within each and every one of us.

As we navigate the winding paths of life, it is paramount for us to cultivate a positive and nurturing relationship with ourselves. It will kindle within you a sense of wonder, reverence, and connection with the world around you.

“A Tree for Me” recently won the coveted Readers’ Favorite Award in the Children’s Picture Book Category!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love so many places in the city! When friends come to visit I enjoy taking them to the beach. I love to give them a true California experience. For that, you need a hike, a beach visit and a trip to In and Out.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The muse behind my book happens to be a special tree. A tree I used to visit when I was a child. This tree has seen me through the trials and tribulations of my life, and provided me with consistency, strength, respect, and unconditional love when I needed it most.

“A Tree for Me” captures the meaningful journey we embark upon in search of unconditional love and genuine acceptance. It reflects the profound longing to be embraced for who we are. Throughout this quest, we come to realize that the love we yearn for from the external world must first be discovered and nurtured from within. The story portrays the tree as a reflective symbol, revealing the qualities and care we must bestow upon ourselves.

Through its vibrant illustrations and engaging storyline, “A Tree for Me” imparts essential lessons on self-acceptance, confidence, and the nurturing of one’s own well-being. It gently encourages young readers to look within themselves for the reservoirs of strength, resilience, love, and self-worth, encouraging a generation of individuals who are confident in their worth and compassionate in their interactions.
