Meet Ezekiel K. | Musical Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ezekiel K. and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ezekiel, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking risks is scary. But a necessary step towards growth. A lot of people including myself fall into the trap where we’re scared to take risk because we’re not sure we’re cable or ready, or we’re afraid of the outcome. Most decisions you make in life, you’re taking a risk, you are risking something to gain a certain outcome, good or bad, big or small. Proper risk taking to me looks like being prepared but not expecting to be perfect, it looks like doing your best with what you have. Wanting things go perfectly will stop you from taking risks and often, things may not go the way we planned but what’s important is what we learn from those experiences.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
There’s a lot that lead me to this point. I studied music for two years in college. I never planned on working on records for other artists, I wanted to get good enough at recording and mixing to make my own music. It just happened peopled asked me to record and mix their records. I started working on the production side of things while I was in college, after learning to play the keys. I was hooked from there. I spent a lot of my free time practicing and learning so that I could improve. There were many challenges, it takes passion and dedication to do anything in life. I’ve learned that things that are worthwhile take time, it’s like a seed. It won’t grow to its fullest potential in few days, a few weeks, or even a few months. It takes patience and nourishment for that seed to reach it’s full potential. I’m most excited to share new music that I’ve been working on. The Everything from the production recording, and mixing, was done myself with the input of a few close friends. The project itself was a learning process, if I were to release it any earlier it wouldn’t have came out the way it did. The quality would be way different. It took a lot of going back, editing, rewriting parts etc.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite place in the city would be anywhere midtown or downtown Manhattan. There’s plenty of places to find good food and places to hang-out and relax. New York City is huge so there’s really no shortage of things you can do.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have a lot of friends and family that has supported me. I’d like to shoutout my family first and foremost, my mom and my siblings for their love and support. My closest friends (they know who they are!). I’d like shoutout Frank Anthony, a talented music artist (check him out!) who has always showed support and whose encouragement helped to spearhead my most recent project.
