Meet Masha Petrova | Fitness and wellness coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Masha Petrova and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Masha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The idea of being my own boss and having freedom is something I knew I wanted since I was really young. When I turned 21 I moved to the states with only $300 and a big dream I had to work 3 jobs at a time to make ends meet.
During those times I was already working on self growth, learning new skills that would eventually help me start my own business.
Entrepreneurship is not for everyone. Most people would take guaranteed salary, benefits and time off than take risks.
I always knew I had a bigger a mission and was meant do something with passion. I also wanted to live life on my own terms.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
After 10 years in the fitness industry working with men and women of all ages and goals I am confident that I picked the best career!
It wasn’t easy from the start to build a name and a recognizable brand, since it takes 2-5 years to get enough experience and clients results. In the beginning you just have to keep your head down, learn as much as you can. Build connections, provide the best results for the clients so they want to continue to work with you and refer to others.
Plus it’s important to continue to improve and challenge yourself to get better. One of the things that helped me stand out from others is competing in a fitness bikini and placing in both categories.
It was an exciting but also challenging experience that helped me attract a whole new avatar – women who wanted to achieve their body goals.
I started coaching young women who would compete in pageants. Typically it’s New England states plus New York.
My very first pageant client ended up winning the title of Miss MA and we went to compete at Miss USA.
Proud to say I have been a health and fitness coach for pageants since 2019. My goal with these beautiful young women is to help them feel their absolute best on stage, fit, hot and confident. All with the strength training and no restrictive dieting.
Some years I have 8-10 clients on one stage competing and I’m always there to support them.
“Bodygoals” coaching was created for women who want to look and feel fit, strong, healthy and confident for life.
Within my coaching program we work not only on fitness and nutrition, but also on mindset, relationship with food, self love and more.
I always remind to my clients that they are already beautiful and unique. And that their body goals don’t need to fit in any social standards.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Right now I’m in Bali and if any of my friends would come to visit we would have the best time!
Start the day with a yoga class and meditation at any of the local places. Go for breakfast to one of my favorite spots in Canggu (Two moods, Mowie’s).
Have a workout at the Wrong gym (best gym ever), spend time in the recovery zone with steam room, sauna, cold plunge, pool and get some tan, get a protein smoothie or sip on a young coconut. Yup this place has is it all.
Go to The Lawn (a beach club with nice vibes, elegant, great food, great dj’s) and watch the sunset
Then finish the day at the rooftop restaurant Skool or Yuki
Been in Bali for almost 4 months now and this place is a dream. A must visit for all
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My life coach Jack is a huge part of my journey especially in the past couple of years.
My business mentors Brian and Cole helped me learn how to successfully build a coaching business online
And my amazing mother who is also a coach herself (she is a well known pregnancy/pre&post natal coach)
