The Eureka Moment

Our city is home to so many incredible businesses and so we asked the founders how they came up with the ideas for their businesses and have shared their responses below.

I got the Cavalier King Charles’ bug when I was about 10 or 12 and I had to deliver my first litter as my parents went out that night, a long time ago when I still lived in France. Those were the days before cell phones and video calls were not a thing. Read more>>

The idea for my business came while at the track/gym. I’ve made several videos on social media and in the beginning I always greeted everybody wherever I was at by saying “We Here”. I always received great feedback on my videos but on numerous occasions, people replied back saying “We Here”. That slogan/name lingered for a while and we took the name/business from there. The spark for Provenance came from a deeply personal place. In the same summer of 2021, my cousin Ashley asked me to officiate her wedding just before I found myself supporting the planning of my grandfather’s funeral. Growing up I grew up singing in a gospel church choir. I absolutely loved being a part of the St John Missionary Baptist Church Youth and Combined choir. In college I minored in Music. I was a member of the CSUB University Singers as well as the Chamber Choir. Read more>>

Before this business I had a business called Kali Production which changed to Visuals By Kali where I worked with business owners filming and editing their videos. I work with indy studios, corporate companies to working in the film industry working on tv shows and commercials. I’ve noticed that post production wasn’t getting the recognition it deserves. I’ve always enjoyed making beaded bracelets since I was a kid. I am a math teacher and tutor and one day I was tutoring a visual learner. I got an idea to try to represent multiplication in a bracelet so she could wear it and see the concept played out in colors and patterns. Read more>>
