Meet Jingxuan Wang | 2D/3D Motion Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jingxuan Wang and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jingxuan, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always been driven by a desire for freedom and creativity. From a young age, I found myself brimming with unique ideas, and drawing became my primary mode of expression—allowing me to channel my emotions effectively. Passion is crucial for me; I thrive on investing my energy and time into what I truly love. This passion led me to pursue a career in motion graphics. It’s not just about creating; it’s about seeing my work bring tangible benefits to others. Helping businesses grow through innovative advertising—whether it’s promoting products or showcasing new technologies—gives me a profound sense of fulfillment and confirms the value of my creative endeavors.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is deeply rooted in motion graphics, a field that allows me to blend my love for visual storytelling with dynamic animation. What sets my work apart is my emphasis on integrating complex concepts with accessible visual narratives, making challenging topics engaging and understandable.
Professionally, I’ve had the privilege of working with esteemed brands such as Bank of America, First Republic Bank, Cigna, and Netflix. These collaborations have taught me how to adapt my animation skills to align with a company’s branding and achieve their business objectives. My tenure at Netflix, in particular, honed my ability to visualize abstract concepts and technologies in ways that are straightforward and easy for stakeholders and customers to grasp.
A significant challenge in my early career was adapting my personal artistic style to meet the branding and stylistic guidelines of these large organizations. Initially, this felt restrictive, but it taught me to blend my creative ideas with the clients’ visions effectively. This process has made me more versatile, allowing me to create diverse and impactful animations that not only resonate with the audience but also meet commercial goals.
I am most proud of how my art has evolved to not only entertain but also educate and inspire action. The projects that excite me the most involve innovative ways to visualize data and concepts, helping viewers understand and connect with the content on a deeper level. The key lessons I’ve learned include the importance of resilience and open-mindedness in creativity—being receptive to new ideas and willing to learn from both successes and failures.
I want the world to know that my brand is more than just about creating art; it’s about making an impact. Through my work, I strive to make complex ideas accessible and engaging, aiming to leave a mark not only on the industry but also on society by enhancing understanding and communication.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d make sure to give them a grand tour of the best cultural and culinary spots in New York City, along with some local favorites in Jersey City.
Day 1: We’d start at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world’s premier museums, where we could spend hours exploring ancient artifacts and contemporary masterpieces. For lunch, we’d grab a bite at a nearby cafe on the Upper East Side. Then, we’d head to Fifth Avenue for a shopping spree, visiting iconic stores and luxury boutiques.
Day 2: In the afternoon, we’d explore Koreatown, indulging in some of the city’s best Korean BBQ and other delicacies. Post-lunch, a stroll through SoHo is on the agenda, where we can shop for trendy fashion items and enjoy an afternoon tea and some exquisite desserts at Dominique Ansel Bakery, famous for inventing the Cronut.
Day 3: As evening approaches, we’d take the PATH train back to Jersey City and walk along the Newport Waterfront. The walkway offers breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline—perfect for an evening stroll.
Day 4: The next day, we’d start with brunch in Jersey City’s Downtown, exploring the local cafes and boutiques. I’d take them to Liberty State Park for a leisurely afternoon, perhaps even catching a ferry for a quick tour around the Statue of Liberty.
Day 5: We’d spend another day in Manhattan, visiting other notable spots like Greenwich Village, where we can catch a live jazz performance, and the historic streets of the Lower East Side, sampling some classic New York delis.
Day 6: For a change of pace, a day trip to Brooklyn would be on the cards, exploring Williamsburg’s vibrant street art scene and artisan markets. We’d wrap up with dinner at a rooftop restaurant for some excellent food and views.
Day 7: On their last day, we’d take it easy, maybe revisit a favorite spot or do some last-minute shopping before a farewell meal at a riverside restaurant in Jersey City, reminiscing about the week’s adventures.
This itinerary blends iconic New York experiences with local gems, making sure they get a full taste of the city from a true New Yorker’s perspective.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to several key figures and experiences that have shaped my artistic path. A pivotal moment was when my middle school mathematics teacher introduced me to the educational opportunities in the US. Her insights into the freedom and rich artistic resources available there inspired me to pursue my studies abroad. This decision led me to the School of Visual Arts, where I was thrilled to discover and collaborate with incredibly talented peers. Being in such a dynamic and competitive environment energized my creativity and motivated me to push the boundaries of my work. I am deeply thankful to my math teacher for setting me on this path, and to my classmates at SVA, whose talent and drive continually inspire me to excel in my own artistic endeavors.
