Hi Trisha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
It technically started with Kōbe our furry boy who had severe allergies to food that’s how we started to learn about dog food and treats, and that’s how our motivation for starting our own business stemmed from a desire to support and educate fellow dog and cat parents like ourselves who need honest, no bull pet treats. Recognizing the importance of single ingredients for our furry companions, particularly for pets with allergies and sensitive stomachs, we aimed to share our knowledge and provide wholesome options for their well-being.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My journey to becoming an eCommerce Merchandiser has been shaped by a commitment to continuous education and adaptation to the ever-evolving landscape of online business. I’ve immersed myself in the day-to-day trends of the industry through forums, classes, seminars, and learning from colleagues. While the path hasn’t been easy, particularly given the unique challenges of eCommerce, I’ve embraced the need to stay ahead of the curve or catch up swiftly.
What sets my brand, Urban Dog Treats, apart is our unwavering dedication to transparency with our customers. We believe in an open-book policy, ensuring that they know exactly what they’re getting with our products. Furthermore, we’re committed to ongoing innovation, constantly seeking to improve and expand our offerings. Our focus remains on sourcing the healthiest single-base ingredients for our treats, prioritizing the well-being of our furry friends above all else.
The lessons learned along the way have been invaluable. I’ve discovered the importance of staying agile and adaptable in the face of change, as well as the power of transparency and customer trust. Every challenge has been an opportunity for growth, and I’m proud of how far Urban Dog has come. As we continue on this journey, I want the world to know that we are dedicated to providing the highest quality treats for beloved pets everywhere, with integrity, innovation, and care at the heart of everything we do.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For a foodie adventure it would be:
Brunch in Malibu Farm Pier, Joan’s on 3rd and Republic is a must!
Dine and relax at Paradise Cove Beach Cafe, Dinner at Nobu with a view or have an intimate kaiseki at n/naka. Immerse our pallet with the flavors of Asia at SGV line of restaurants, from Chengdu taste for Szechuan food, Newport Seafood for lobsters and crabs, Bistro Na’s Chili sauce chicken, Ipoh Kotiam for some traditional Malaysian food, and Bistro 1968 for dim sum.
For little hiking adventures would be a hike around the old LA Zoo, Escondido Falls, Bridge to Nowhere or Redwood Grove in Yorba Linda.
Day trip or a two-day trip to San Diego, starting off at Temecula for some wine-tasting tours or a hot air balloon ride. A hike to Potato Chip Rock or if they’re in the mood for adventure head over for a climb to Annie’s Canyon trail.
For some fun night out would be around Ktown and Weho, Star Night, Dan Sung Sa, The Normandie Club, The Abby, Bar Next Door, and Or Bar.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My heartfelt gratitude extends to several individuals and pups Firstly, to Joy, whose brilliance brings our treat recipes to life. She tirelessly dedicates herself as our treat mastermind and financial steward, ensuring our products are top-notch and our finances are in order.
