Meet Olivia Dumnicka | Co-founder of Swai

We had the good fortune of connecting with Olivia Dumnicka and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Olivia, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
I run a user generated content marketing agency called SWAI. One aspect of the user-generated content (UGC) or micro-influencer industry that outsiders might not be fully aware of is the immense diversity and authenticity it brings to brand promotion and marketing campaigns.
While traditional advertising often relies on polished and professionally produced content, UGC and micro-influencer marketing harness the power of everyday individuals to create content that feels more genuine and relatable to audiences. This authenticity can significantly impact consumer trust and engagement with brands.
Additionally, the UGC creators don’t need any following, because it’s the brand that is posting all the content delivered by creators, Allowing brands to reach highly targeted audiences that might be otherwise challenging to access through traditional advertising channels.
Overall, the UGC and micro-influencer industry offer a rich landscape of diverse voices, perspectives, and content styles that can greatly enhance brand visibility and authenticity in the eyes of consumers.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Swai is an agency for user generated content and influencer management. We are based in Berlin, Germany, but we operate worldwide.
Our marketplace seamlessly connects content creators with brands, fostering collaborations that produce engaging and impactful video content and other partnerships.
We empower creators and brands to achieve their vision together.
The idea for Swai started in early 2020 while I was working in marketing and witnessed how inefficient and expensive influencer marketing is.
After meeting my co-founder we decided to start the business and since then things went fast. The biggest challenge was always to communicate the value proposition to customers who are new to the topic and only have experience with influencer marketing. Once they try UGC they love it and see that campaign results are much better.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favourite part in LA must be around Santa Monica and Venice.
I really love beach walks, grabbing a cup of coffee from Primo Passo Coffee or a breakfast at Gjusta. If you are in the area you must try barbacoa tacos from Tacos Tuzo! You can finish the day by enjoying sunset view with a drink at Fig Tree.
LA has great nature to offer so I’d always recommend a hike around iconic Hollywood sign. I’d also recommend checking out the Hammer Museum in West Village.
LA has incredible crowd, and you can easily meet people while having a coffee or visiting a museum. People in this city have a lot of dreams and many side hustles while still being chill!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am very grateful for learning about Tim Ferris and reading his books early in my career. His books helped me develop an entrepreneurial mindset.
I am also very lucky to have a co-founder whom I truly align with. We are a strong and supportive team.
Lastly I am greatful for my supportive family and partner.
