Meet Angela Petta | Micro Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Petta and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angela, how do you define success?
How do I define success? Hmm, success is relative. I believe the definition of success changes with each season of a person’s life. My current definition of success is: achieving one’s aim and/or purpose for a given season. My current purpose is to Empower, Encourage & Enlighten individuals to look & feel their most authentic selves through skincare, makeup & style.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I truly enjoy helping others find the beauty in themselves. There is nothing like when a person looks in the mirror and smiles at their own reflection. I started in the beauty industry in 1989. It started with my own journey to heal the cystic acne on my face, neck, decolléte and back. This lead me to Merle Norman Cosmetics. Between my dermatologist and my skincare ritual, my skin cleared, my self esteem improved & my love for makeup and skincare was born.
I noticed other clients whose complexions were improving and they smiled at their reflection in the mirror. This is the moment I knew becoming a beauty advisor was my calling and purpose.
I have worked for various brands such as: Merle Norman Cosmetics, Arbonne, Mary Kay, Avon, La Bella Donna, etc. The knowledge I acquired from each brand has built my makeup and skincare skills along with earning a certification in makeup artistry. I use my talents and skills to teach others how to care for and love themselves one product at a time.
In 2020, I was selected as one of 11 skincare models for The Inkey List campaign. I represented women over 40. It was a magical experience. It also reminded me of how my journey lead me to become a skincare model at the age of 48 with a clear and radiant complexion. It humbled me knowing my story is helping others to not only care for their skin, but to lift up their opinions about themselves.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First, I was born and raised in Santa Monica, CA. I’m very proud of my beloved beach city.
I would start with lunch on the Promenade. Next, we would walk throughout the mall. We would make our way to the Santa Monica Pier & Palisades Park. During our stroll, we would recall and remince what Santa Monica used to look like when we were younger. Enjoying the fresh ocean air and watch the squirrels frolick around is always delightful. It would be very peaceful and fun. For dinner and drinks we would enjoy El Cholo one of our favorite restaurants. Lastly, we would retire to her home and enjoy one anothers company.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shout-out goes to my bestie/sister (from another mother, Mom #2), Heather. She has her own business:@janedeangems. She is an artist who creates and makes jewelry. We have been blessed with one another since the 7th grade. I’m truly grateful for her love, support, kindness, authenticity and encouragement to be myself. Thank you, Sis.
