Hi Dharam, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well, when I first started spinning tracks at clubs in DTLA, Hollywood & SantaMonica after graduating from Scratch LA Academy, I realized that music wasn’t just about beats and melodies. It was about creating an experience, a vibe that people could lose themselves in. As I delved deeper into the DJ scene, I saw an opportunity to craft my own unique brand of entertainment, one that fused my passion for music from India and around the world with my desire to bring people together. Starting my own business was a natural progression, a way to curate unforgettable events and share my love for music with the world. It’s all about creating “WoW” moments that resonate with people, and having my own business gives me the creative freedom to do just that.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a DJ, my art is about more than just playing music; it’s about creating an immersive experience that transports listeners to the vibrant, energetic world of Indian and World music. What sets me apart is my deep connection to my Indian culture and my ability to curate seamless mixes that blend classic Bollywood hits with contemporary sounds, creating a dynamic fusion that resonates with audiences of all backgrounds, cultures and beliefs.

What I’m most proud of is my ability to bridge the gap between tradition and innovation within the realm of Indo Western music. I take pride in crafting sets that pay homage to the golden era of Indian cinema while also infusing elements of modern production and global influences, keeping the energy high and the dance floor packed.

My journey to where I am today professionally has been anything but easy. Like any artistic pursuit, it required dedication, perseverance, and a willingness to continuously evolve. I faced numerous challenges along the way, from breaking into the DJ industry to overcoming skepticism of not able to attracting the audiences for events. However, through sheer determination and a steadfast belief in my vision, I navigated these obstacles and emerged stronger and more resilient.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way are invaluable. I’ve learned the importance of authenticity, staying true to my roots while embracing innovation. I’ve learned the power of collaboration, surrounding myself with like-minded individuals who share my passion for music and culture. And perhaps most importantly, I’ve learned the significance of perseverance, never giving up on my dreams even though sometimes you feel you are losing your patience

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that Bollywood music is more than just a genre; it’s a celebration of life, love, and culture. Through my music, I aim to spread joy, ignite passion, and unite people from all walks of life. My story is one of resilience, creativity, and a deep love for the art form, and I hope to inspire others to embrace their own unique talents and pursue their passions with unwavering determination. If you love what you do and ready to invest time then no one can take away the hard work from you. I believe in what my Head coach at Scratch Academy DJ Hapa once told me “You have to keep the momentum going”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a DJ eager to immerse myself in the vibrant music scene of Las Vegas, my ideal trip with my best friend would be a whirlwind adventure filled with electrifying DJ shows, epic club nights, and gourmet dining experiences. Here’s how I’d plan the ultimate Vegas getaway with my best friend:

Day 1: Arrival and Evening Extravaganza

After checking into a chic hotel on The Strip, we’d kick off our Vegas adventure with dinner at Beauty & Essex, indulging in their signature cocktails and exquisite small plates.
Our first stop of the night would be OMNIA at Caesars Palace, where we’d dance the night away to the beats of resident DJs like Calvin Harris or Steve Aoki, soaking in the high-energy atmosphere and stunning visuals.

Day 2: Poolside Vibes and Sunset Beats

We’d head to Encore Beach Club for some sun-soaked fun, enjoying live DJ sets and refreshing cocktails by the pool.
As the sun begins to set, we’d make our way to Drai’s Beachclub & Nightclub for their renowned rooftop party, dancing under the stars to the sounds of top-tier DJs.

Day 3: Culinary Delights and Underground Beats

We’d venture off The Strip for lunch at Tao, a hidden gem known for its authentic Asian cuisine and intimate atmosphere.
Afternoon exploration would lead us to the Arts District, where we’d discover local art galleries and enjoy a coffee break at Makers & Finders.
As night falls, we’d head to XS at Encore for a taste of the underground electronic scene, dancing to the beats of underground DJs in the club’s intimate setting.

Day 4: Adventure and Indulgence

Today, we’d embark on a thrilling adventure with a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon, taking in breathtaking views of the natural wonder from above.
After returning to The Strip, we’d treat ourselves to a luxurious dinner at Milpa, savoring the culinary creations of one of the world’s most celebrated chefs.
To cap off the night, we’d head to Marquee Nightclub at The Cosmopolitan, where we’d party the night away to the sounds of resident and guest DJs in the club’s multi-level space.

Day 5: Relaxation and Rooftop Revelry

For lunch, we’d dine al fresco at Eiffel Tower Restaurant, enjoying panoramic views of The Strip and indulging in classic French cuisine.
As night falls, we’d head to the rooftop of The Venetian for cocktails at The Dorsey, soaking in the stunning views of the Las Vegas skyline before venturing to TAO Nightclub for a night of dancing and celebration.

Day 6: Farewell Vegas and Fond Memories

On our final day in Vegas, before departing, we’d take a stroll down The Strip one last time, taking in the sights and sounds of this iconic city and making plans for our next Vegas adventure.
With this itinerary, my best friend and I would experience the best of Las Vegas’s music scene, from epic DJ shows and club nights to gourmet dining and unforgettable adventures.

In the symphony of my personal life, my wife Trupti has been the silent melody and with her unwavering support I was able to realize my dream. She has been my rock, my confidante, my source of strength, my DJ journey has been as much as hers as it has been mine. Her unwavering belief in me, her sacrifices, and her boundless love fueled my pursuit of becoming a DJ, and for that, I am forever grateful to her and also to my kids Vihaan & Hrehaan for giving up on their time so that I could achieve my dream.

To Scratch Academy LA and my mentor DJ Gravity – Your influence on my journey has been profound. Scratch Academy LA became my sanctuary, a place where I could hone my craft and explore the depths of music. DJ Gravity, your expertise and passion for the art of DJing have been transformative.
