Meet Dorna Baghaeiamri | Actress

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dorna Baghaeiamri and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dorna, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
One thing outsiders might not realize about acting is the amount of preparation and emotional investment that goes into each performance. It’s not just about memorizing lines; actors often delve deep into their characters’ psyches to bring them to life convincingly. And how difficult it is to find a job in the industry as an actor, you have to audition for a lot of projects but you might not get any callbacks from them.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started my career doing some theatre in school when I was a kid but I got known by acting in some music videos. After that I got an offer to work in GEM TV, one of the most popular channel in Iran. They have over 65 million viewers. I auditioned and I got the job as an series regular in one of their Big comedy Tv shows called ( kaleri mamno ) which means “ Forbidden Calorie “ in English. And after that I worked in other projects as guest stars and supporting as well. When I moved to America I studied at New York Film Academy and I got to know a lot of great film makers and I did few short films with them as well. I worked in some commercials and worked with wonderful brands like SLS hotels. I had my own challenges for each job but always handled them perfectly. When you have passion for something you have to know that you have to work hard for it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
That is an interesting question. I personally love santa monica pier. You can find good food and have a lot of fun over there, and specially you can’t get over the view at golden hour. Malibu is one of my favorite places as well. I love the view and the breeze over there and the vibe is amazing. I do care about view and good quality food as well, one of my favorite restaurants is “Yamashiro” the food is great and the view is breathtaking, my other favorite restaurant is “71 above” Which is in a high rise and again the view is fantastic. It’s located in DTLA .If they wanna try Middle Eastern food I would take them to “westwood” so they will have a lot of options to choose. For bar & clubs I would recommend them BUNGALOW, AVALON,NO VACANCY & ELEVATE. And for hookah lounge I will take them to SHISHI, SPOT,LEVEL,HOOKAH LOUNGE,CAFE NAAB and 7 KINGDOMS.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank my family for their endless support and love, even during the worst times of our lives they never stop encouraging me . My dad is my hero he always told me to not give up and keep going. My mom raised me very tough she always told me that life is tough but you are tougher than life, she always made me feel strong and fight for my dreams. My brother is my biggest protector whenever he was around I always felt safe and I could break any walls in front of me and he always had my back. My sister is my savior. If it wasn’t for her and her support financially and emotionally I wouldn’t be where I’m today. Beyond her unconditional love, my sister embodies the essence of selflessness, always putting the needs of others before her own. In times of darkness and despair, it is my sister’s light that guides me through the storm, illuminating the path toward hope and healing. Her love, guidance, and unwavering support have shaped me into the person I am today, imbuing my life with purpose, meaning, and boundless joy. In her embrace, I find solace; in her laughter, I find joy; and in her presence, I find home. I owe her my life. I want to thank Dr. Jenn Davis she is my spiritual sister. She is also one of my big supporter. Whether through a simple gesture of affection or a sacrificial act of generosity, she epitomizes the essence of familial love, reminding me of the immeasurable value of kinship. If it wasn’t for her help I would still have a miserable life and I wouldn’t survive. I also wanted to thank my mentor Mr. Steve owen. Perhaps most importantly, my mentor has been a constant source of encouragement and support, offering a listening ear, sage advice, and words of wisdom that have sustained me through moments of doubt and uncertainty. I really appreciate him. I want to thank my dog as well she is a cute little dog that always supports me emotionally and her presence makes me feel so much better. I want to appreciate Ayaz hussain ,he always supports me and helps me with everything and I’m so blessed to have him in my life as well as my family and friends. I think we usually don’t give ourselves any credit but I want to thank myself for not giving up.
