Meet Paige Roberts | Sports Psychology Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Paige Roberts and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paige, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I started my business back in Colorado eleven years ago, I had just lost a second dear athlete friend to suicide. Through this pain I found my purpose. My purpose was to find the best ways possible to assist athletes in healing their past mental and physical traumas. The best ways I’ve found is through altered consciousness state trauma reprocessing and desensitizing techniques, photobiomodulation and audio-visual entrainment cranial electro stimulation.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is centered around the Polyvagal theory by Dr. Stephen Porges which is based in the philosophy of when we endure either mental or physical traumas, we reset our homeostasis to a maladaptive state of functioning out of survival. Therefore, we must reprocess and desensitize the traumatic experiences to get the nervous system to reset to a healthier state of functioning. How I do this and what makes my business or offering different is I use an altered consciousness state trauma reprocessing and desensitizing technique I created called Alpha Imprinting. Alpha Imprinting is implemented through online video sessions. Alpha Imprinting was developed with aspects of the effective techniques of hypnotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Neuro Linguistic Programming, Somatic Experiencing, Brainspotting, Frequency Medicine (binaural frequencies) and EFT Tapping Matrix Reimprinting. I currently work with high level athletes one on one but what most excites me at this time is teaching Alpha Imprinting to other sports performance professionals so they can help their athlete clients suffering from mental or physical traumas heal.
How I got where I am today was all trial and error. I have tried and continue to try to reach athletes suffering from mental and physical trauma in every way possible. I have gone to sports networking events, sports medicine conferences, mental health expos and have even emailed sports agents begging them to care about how important it is for athletes to heal from their trauma in relationship to their sports performance. My business journey has been everything but easy. But I wouldn’t change one thing because I know being a “maverick” or “trail blazer” is not easy. When I feel the most defeated or tired of pushing I just tell myself “nothing worth having is easily obtained”. The biggest lessons I’ve learned is you must do your own self-care or self work nonstop or you will get burnt out. As well as you cannot be good at everything so you must stay within your genius zone and lean on other professionals to help you with the things you do not know. What I want the world to know is no matter how many people doubt you or don’t believe in what you are doing all that matters is your why. You just keep your reason for trying to change things and make a greater impact in mind. And of course if you are an athlete struggling with past traumas you are not alone and their is a way out of the turmoil you are feeling right now. Suicide should never be an option to end suffering and pain.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my friends on the Palisades staircase loop from Santa Monica Peir back to the Peir. I would take them hiking in Malibu, Topanga and the Hollywood Hills. I would take them to a concert at the iconic Hollywood Bowl. I would take them to Hollywood to visit the glorious Roosevelt Hotel and infamous walk of fame. I would take them to the rooftop bars in Hollywood to watch the sunset. I would take them to Venice beach to experience the vendors. I would take them to the Getty to see the Vincent Van Gogh Iris painting as he has always been my favorite. I would take them to the beautiful Dodgers Stadium to catch a game that overlooks the LA skyline. I would take them to Crypto Arena to see the greatest of all time Labron James play. I would take them to El chollo Mexican restaurant as it is one of the oldest Mexican restaurants in the area.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When I started my business and mission to end suicide of athletes I had attended the American Academy of Neurology’s sports concussion conference in Denver Colorado. It was at this conference I met one of the founding lawyers Charles “Bucky” Zimmerman of the law firm Zimmerman and Reed. We connected instantly in what we were doing there as Bucky was also on a mission to end suicide of athletes by litigating the NFL, NHL and NCAA around their responsibility associated with the mistreatment or lack of treatment of athlete’s sports concussions. He validated my concerns and supported me in my mission to help athletes. He officially proclaimed he was my mentor and was the biggest influence in getting me to move from the small ski town of Steamboat Springs Colorado to Seattle Washington where I did research on the physical impact of sports concussions. He said, “you cannot push a boulder up a mountain on your own, you must put yourself in an environment where you have others pursuing the same goals and supporting you in pushing the boulder up the mountain”. Bucky was my biggest support until he passed away from cancer in February of 2019. I still look back at saved text messages when times are tough, and I feel like I am not succeeding with my mission. I left Seattle in January of 2023 to move to LA to make an even greater impact and have just recently obtained a new mentor Brendan Boyd whom is coaching me on developing a social media presence to reach more athletes whom need the services or help I have to offer them.
