Nick Hamilton | Media Personality & Founder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nick Hamilton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Nitefall Media was established to give a voice to the latest happening in sports. culture, and lifestyle. I’m proud of the team that has been assembled (Jackie Shepard – VP of Operations, Adrian Galera – Head of Production, Chris Camello and Edson Santos – Production), while providing a variety of viewpoints from various races and backgrounds that can tell and report stories. I’ve always had a vision to own my own media company, it took a lot of hard work, dedication and the grace of God to get where I am now. From interning at ESPN LA and a couple of other media outlets to finally being compensated for my work, it has not been an easy road. The journey continues, but along the way I have networked with some outstanding people, yet have faced racism and discrimination along the way from some rival outlets, public relation people as well. But I rise above it, in bringing the necessary attention to racism, sexism, and bigotry that we face as Black journalists and journalists of color. This company is also about helping others who faced the same issues to have a platform and figure out ways to get stories done and out to our audience. The lessons I learned along the way have been about the power of networking, learning from others and making sure that business is taken care of on the entire spectrum. Understanding it’s not just about myself but creating a better path for the next people who come behind me. I would like people to know that Nitefall Media is for the people, a platform to be heard as we bring value as we continue to expand.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d definitely take them to Harold Chicken in Hollywood, great atmosphere, drinks and food. Head over to the Roof Top Bar in Downtown Los Angeles for some good drinks and cool vibes. On another night during happy hour head over The Perch also in Downtown Los Angeles good drinks, good times and great view of the city. There is also time to hang out on a good weather day at Hermosa Beach Strand, later get some really good food and service at Dulan’s in the Crenshaw District. Never can go wrong by hanging out on Melrose or at the Beverly Center. Soak up the culture in Leimert Park, go for a hike in Baldwin Hills. On another day hike and stand at the top of the city after walking up Runyon Canyon. With so much to do in Los Angeles, something new comes up nightly in this city.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Quite a many people have helped me along the way, but I have to recognize these individuals outside of my family and close friends, who are Fred Roggin (NBC) and Rob Parker (FOX Sports/FS1). These two individuals have assisted me with knowledge, advice and allow me opportunities to expand my brand. Both Roggin and Parker are the best in the business.
