Meet SOLA

We had the good fortune of connecting with SOLA and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi SOLA, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I decided to pursue an artistic career because music has always been my source of comfort and inspiration. Creating music motivates me, and singing and songwriting give me the freedom to be unapologetically myself, without fear of judgment. When I sing and perform, I feel truly free, and once I realized that my passion could become my career, I knew it was the perfect path for me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m an R&B/Soul/Pop singer, songwriter, and performer. My music is deeply personal and authentic, drawing from my own thoughts, experiences and emotions. I’m most proud of and excited about my newest single “WHAT YOU WANT.” This song is unlike anything I’ve released so far, and I had the most fun creating it and it’s visuals. I’m also super excited about exploring new sounds and continuing to push the boundaries of my musical style. At the forefront of everything I do is my love for music, and one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of patience, perseverance, and authenticity. I love to create music and sing from my heart, and that will never change. I want the world to know that my music is a reflection of my personal journey and my soul. It’s helps me through the tough times, makes the good times better, and grounds me in all that I do.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to all my past choir and arts teachers. Thank you for recognizing my love for music and nurturing it, for allowing me to discover new parts of myself in your classrooms. You taught me the profound impact music can have on the soul and its power to heal, and for that I am forever grateful.
