Meet Zachary Isaac Settle | Artist, Producer, Musician, Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Zachary Isaac Settle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zachary Isaac, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Ever since I was young, I always dreamed of being my own boss and working for myself. I never really liked the idea of working for someone else for the rest of my life. Personally, there’s little to no freedom in that. Before starting, I quickly learned that starting and running your own business takes a lot of time, effort, and money as well. And it can often be a lonely road, and sometimes scary. But I’ve always had such a high drive and high ambition that I never let those fears stop me from taking that leap of faith to just try it. As grueling as the process may be, I 100% believe it is worth it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a musician, producer, artist, and songwriter. I started off playing the drums in church when I was a toddler, then eventually moved to bass, piano, then organ. To this day, I still play organ at my church, Ward AME LA every Sunday. My whole life, I have been self taught when it comes to learning music, how to play, producing, engineering, and songwriting. Growing up, I always had that drive to learn on my own, even if no one could help me with it, and that’s what got me to where I am today. If there’s something I want to accomplish, I will move mountains to make that happen. However, one very important lesson that I’ve learned along the way is that no matter how much you know how to do or no matter how much you think you can take on, you can never do any of this by yourself. It’s important to be able to lean and rely on others that you trust to help you through your journey. We aren’t meant to live this life alone.
As an artist and producer, the biggest message that I wanna share with the world is love. With so much hate and negativity and evil going on in the world, and with so much music nowadays focusing on heartbreak, sadness, suicide, drugs, violence, etc., I believe that there needs to be more uplifting and loving music, which is why I make a lot of love songs. Now I don’t believe there’s anything wrong with music about heartbreak and sadness, but I don’t believe that we should have those thoughts and feelings consume our entire lives. And that’s why I’m so adamant about pushing love in my music.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Now I don’t really go out that much, so as far as favorite spots go, it would be more personal for me, as opposed to visiting tourist attractions. Some of my favorite spots in LA are Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles, Simply Wholesome, Manhattan Beach, Tha Juice Joint and Viva Fresh.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I definitely have to give my parents and my brother, Jeremiah and my sister, Madison a shoutout. From wanting to do things that seem impossible to a lot of people, they always encouraged me and supported me endlessly to keep pursuing those dreams and to continue to be the best I can be. Even some of the skills and resources they had helped tremendously along my way through my business and music career. I also have to shoutout my best friends. They know who they are. They’ve supported and encouraged me just as much as my family. I don’t have many, but they’re the best I could’ve asked for.
