We had the good fortune of connecting with Dalia Goldberg and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dalia, how does your business help the community?
At Wander+Art, my mission is deeply rooted in the belief that we all need spaces where we can reconnect—with ourselves, our creativity, each other, and the natural world around us. In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to lose touch with these vital connections. That’s why I created the flower mandala workshops, which provide a safe, nurturing environment for people to slow down, breathe, and rediscover the beauty and stillness within.
These workshops are more than just creative sessions; they are journeys of self-discovery, mindfulness, and emotional healing. As I guide participants through the process of creating flower mandalas, I encourage them to tap into their intuition, express their emotions, and find a sense of peace and balance. Working with flowers and natural elements, we’re reminded of the simple yet profound wisdom nature offers—teaching us to grow, adapt, and bloom in our own unique ways.
Community is at the heart of what I do. These workshops are designed to foster a deep sense of connection, whether it’s between family members, friends, or even strangers who come together for the first time. There’s something magical that happens when people sit down to create flower mandalas—whether they do it individually or collaboratively – it strengthens bonds, nurtures empathy, and promotes a deeper understanding of one another. In these shared moments of creativity, mindfulness, and group discussions, we realize that we are all part of something greater, and that our stories and human experience echo within each other.
On a broader scale, I believe that these small acts of creativity and connection have the power to create ripples of positive change in the world. By fostering mindfulness, compassion, and community through my workshops, I hope to contribute to a more compassionate, conscious, and connected society.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My passion is to create spaces and moments where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves and others, and discover the joy of creative expression. What makes Wander+Art special is that these workshops aren’t just about making art; they’re about cultivating peace, emotional wellness, and deep connections—with oneself, with others, and with nature. Each workshop blends creativity, mindfulness, and community, and I’m proud to provide a nurturing environment where people can explore these aspects of themselves.
I’m most proud of the impact these workshops have had on participants. Hearing that someone has found inner peace, clarity, a renewed sense of purpose, or formed meaningful connections is incredibly fulfilling. It’s also exciting to see how this unique practice resonates with so many different people and how interest in it continues to grow.
The journey to where I am today hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been deeply rewarding. When I first started, I was fueled by a love of flowers, nature, and art, and a desire to share the joy I found in creating flower mandalas with others. But turning that passion into a business meant learning how to handle marketing, organizing events, managing logistics, and finding the right audience. There were moments of doubt and uncertainty, and I’m sure there will be more in the future. However, I stay grounded in my mission, seek support from my local community, and hold onto the joy that comes from knowing these workshops and experiences have a positive impact on individuals, groups, and communities.
Along the way, I’ve learned the importance of persistence and the value of believing in your vision. It’s not always easy to stay motivated, especially when faced with setbacks, but staying connected to the “why” behind my work keeps me moving forward. Wander+Art is all about crafting meaningful experiences that foster connection, reflection, and growth. My love for flowers, nature, creativity, and the human spirit keeps me going and I’m excited to continue sharing this journey with others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As someone who calls Austin home, I’m always excited to share its unique charm—a beautiful blend of culture, nature, and that unmistakable chill Texan vibe. If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d make sure to give them a true taste of what makes this city so special.
Day 1: We’d kick off the week at Laguna Gloria, part of The Contemporary Austin. This outdoor sculpture park is where art and nature come together, offering serene views of Lady Bird Lake. It’s the perfect place to start our Austin experience. After that we’ll head out to get some authentic Texas barbecue at Terry Black’s.
Day 2: We’d then go check out the interactive world of Wonderspaces, where art is not just something to look at but something to experience. After an hour or so of engaging exhibits and great cocktails (there’s a bar onsite), we’d head to the trails along Lady Bird Lake where the views are stunning—especially in the fall when the foliage bursts with color against the downtown skyline.
Day 3: Austin’s outdoor activities are a huge part of its appeal. We’d spend the day kayaking on Lady Bird Lake, followed by watching the famous bats emerge from under the Richards Congress Avenue Bridge at sunset. It’s a uniquely Austin experience that never fails to impress. For dinner, we’d enjoy an elevated experience at Hestia.
Day 4: For a more laid-back day, we’d visit the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. If you’re here in the spring, the trails are lined with Texas wildflowers in full bloom, making it a peaceful and grounding experience. Later, we’d explore downtown Austin, stopping by the beautiful Capitol building, which is free to visit and offers an interesting glimpse into Texas history.
Day 5: A touch of whimsy comes next with a visit to the Cathedral of Junk, an eclectic art installation in a local artist’s backyard. It’s a quirky, one-of-a-kind experience that perfectly captures Austin’s creative spirit. Just be sure to call ahead! We’d then head to South Congress Avenue (SoCo) to explore its vibrant mix of restaurants, boutiques, and the iconic Allens Boots store, where trying on a pair of cowboy boots is practically a rite of passage.
Day 6: We’d continue our cultural exploration with a street art tour to see some of Austin’s best murals, followed by a food truck tour—because in Austin, food trucks are their own food group!, followed by an evening of live music, exploring the lively night life scene on 6th Street.
Day 7: To wrap up the week, we’d take a trip to the Texas Hill Country. The drive itself, especially in the spring when wildflowers line the roads, is an experience. We’d hike at Hamilton Pool, visit the charming shops in Fredericksburg, and stop by a few of the local wineries, like Becker Vineyards. It’s the perfect way to end an unforgettable week in Austin.
Austin is a city where you can truly feel at home, whether you’re exploring its natural beauty, enjoying the urban downtown, or simply soaking in its laid-back, welcoming atmosphere. This itinerary offers a unique glimpse into what makes Austin so special, and I’m always happy to experience it all when friends come to visit.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe so much of my journey with Wander+Art to the incredible people who have supported and inspired me along the way. The flower mandala workshops began as a simple, joyful activity with friends. We would go out to nature, filling our baskets with fallen leaves, acorns, and other natural treasures while enjoying each other’s company. When we found the perfect spot, we’d settle down, add some store-bought flowers, and create beautiful mandalas together. Those moments weren’t just fun; they were deeply relaxing, strengthening our friendship and bringing a sense of peace that lingered long after.
It was my friends who encouraged me to share this experience with others. They offered invaluable feedback on workshop formats and helped spread the word, giving me the confidence to turn these gatherings into a business. I couldn’t have started Wander+Art without their unwavering support, love, and belief in me.
As I began to grow my business, I realized that mindfulness was at the heart of what made these workshops so special. The act of creating a flower mandala allows participants to slow down, be present, and let go of the stresses of daily life. This realization led me to Jon Kabat-Zinn’s book, Wherever You Go, There You Are. His teachings on mindfulness and meditation resonated deeply with me, and they have profoundly influenced not only the way I facilitate my workshops but also how I connect with others in my life.
As my business expanded, I found incredible support in a local women’s entrepreneur group. This amazing community of women has been a source of inspiration, motivation, and practical advice. They’ve shown me the power of networking and the impact of word-of-mouth recommendations. Being part of this group has truly changed the course of my business, and I am immensely grateful for their guidance, support and encouragement.
