Hi Arjan, why did you pursue a creative career?
My career, while not traditionally artistic, is deeply rooted in creativity. I’ve always been fascinated by the intersection of analytical thinking and innovative problem-solving. I chose this path because it allows me to create strategic frameworks and conduct competitive simulations, which are an inherently creative processes.

I’ve always had a passion for writing and wanted to author a book. Writing one’s thoughts and findings is one of the most creative activities, as it involves translating complex ideas into coherent narratives. This desire to write and share my insights aligns with my professional work, where crafting strategic solutions often involves a creative and thoughtful approach. So, my career has allowed me to merge my analytical skills with my creative aspirations, making it a fulfilling journey.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work involves helping companies develop and implement winning strategies through strategic workshops, competitive war games, and early warning systems. What sets my approach apart is the integration of creative and analytical methods to provide deep insights into a company’s current and future competitive environment. This combination allows businesses to anticipate and navigate challenges more effectively.

My career started with a strong foundation in strategy and competitive analysis, but establishing myself in the field required a lot of dedication and hard work. Building up from scratch and gaining the trust of top global companies wasn’t easy. There were many long hours, extensive travel, and the constant need to stay ahead of industry trends and developments.

Something that I have learned is the importance of adaptability. The business landscape is constantly changing, and being able to pivot and adjust strategies is essential. Another lesson is the value of collaboration and teamwork. Success is rarely achieved in isolation, and building strong, collaborative relationships is vital. Finally, maintaining a work-life balance is crucial for long-term success and well-being.

I want the world to know that my work is driven by a passion for helping companies succeed in an increasingly complex and competitive environment. My approach combines rigorous analysis with creative strategy development, ensuring that clients are well-prepared for future challenges. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Certainly! If a friend were visiting Scottsdale, I’d make sure to showcase the best of the area, blending relaxation with adventure. We’d start by exploring the vibrant Old Town Scottsdale, where they can enjoy art galleries, historic sites, and boutique shopping.

Outdoor enthusiasts would enjoy hiking Camelback Mountain for breathtaking desert views, and a day trip to Sedona would be perfect for exploring the stunning red rock formations. To unwind, we’d visit places like Scottsdale Waterfront and the Desert Botanical Garden. For a taste of local culture, we’d explore the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art and catch a performance at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.

Finally, enjoying sunset views and a fine dining experience at Elements at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain would be a memorable way to cap off the visit.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Reflecting on my journey, there are several people and influences that have been instrumental in shaping my career and success. First and foremost, I would like to give a shoutout to my family. Their unwavering support, love, and encouragement have been the foundation of everything I’ve achieved. My parents instilled in me the values of hard work, integrity, and perseverance, which has guided me throughout my career.

Professionally, I owe a great deal to my mentors and colleagues who have guided me along the way. I’d like to acknowledge the organizations I’ve had the privilege of working with over the years. My clients provided me with the platform to develop my skills and gain invaluable experience. The collaborative environment and the opportunity to work on challenging projects were critical in honing my expertise.
