We had the good fortune of connecting with Blake Bilder and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Blake, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
Success if the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. You know you’re succeeding and living a good life when you are moving closer towards a life you enjoy. I think it’s defined in 5 pillars which is physical, emotional, relational, mental spiritual.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart is my work ethic and mindset. It’s been the hardest thing I’ve ever done. You have to be committed 24/7 and everything affects your performance so you have to be disciplined. I’ve learned delayed gratification and how to believe in myself cause I’m the only one that gets in that cage. The world should know how good God is and how He took a broken soul like mine and repaired it and gave me life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely an acai bowl in Laguna and go to main beach during the day and hit some art stores. Night life would be a comedy club in Irvine or Long Beach. After that I think you have to eat at a taco truck literally anywhere out here the Mexican food in those trucks are always the best!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom was always supportive of me and honest with me and raised me and my brothers so she deserves most praise. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ directed my path and gave me faith, hope, & courage from day 1, but really when I came to believe at age 20. All of my coaches for sure throughout the years, but a mentor, friend, and father figure was a guy Tom Ronayne he believed in me and brought me from one of my lowest points in life and gave me hope. He helped a young kid out and helped me become a man. He treated me like a son and changed my life. I’m forever grateful for him
