We had the good fortune of connecting with Yana Polshina and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yana, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I am deeply fascinated by how art influences both individuals and communities on psychological and emotional levels. For me, art is a language beyond words, creating a bridge to history, culture, and human experience. It provides a unique form of expression that enriches both the creator and the viewer, fostering empathy, innovation, and mindfulness. I believe the creative process is not merely a career, but a journey of lifelong learning and transformation. My passion for art history and curation inspired me to pursue a path where I can not only create, but also guide and share these meaningful experiences with others.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Starting a new business is never easy; it demands a combination of passion, preparation, creativity, and financial investment. I’m proud to say that my business, Vespera Floral Studio, is a labor of love. Through our online shop, Angelenos can order exquisite flower arrangements that we design and deliver. We work from a home-based studio in Reseda and serve a wide area, including Los Angeles, Malibu, Newport, Laguna, Long Beach, Palos Verdes, and many other cities in Greater Los Angeles.
What sets us apart is the level of care and artistry that goes into each arrangement, drawing inspiration from classic art and nature. I’m especially excited about the emotional connection our floral designs create for people when physical presence isn’t possible.
Additionally, I offer private tours in many of Los Angeles’ museums, and my fascination with California’s historic homes fuels my passion for connecting the past with the present. The journey to where I am today has certainly come with its challenges, but those have only deepened my love for what I do. I’ve learned that persistence, adaptability, and an unwavering vision are essential in overcoming obstacles.
What I want the world to know about my brand is that it’s not just about flowers or tours—it’s about creating beauty, meaningful experiences, and connections that last.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Another option would be to spend the day in Manhattan Beach and Palos Verdes, where we’d visit the botanic garden and explore a hiking trail through Terranea Resort.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to dedicate my shoutout to a few key people and influences who have been instrumental in my journey. First, the Exhibitions and Events team at the Getty Museum, whose collaborations have enriched my professional path. My work colleagues, who continue to inspire and challenge me creatively.
I also want to recognize my beautiful and talented daughter, Jacqueline, who brings constant joy and motivation to my life. My dear friend Evgenya Yudina, who encouraged me to pursue floral design by photographing my flower compositions, deserves special thanks.
My loving husband has always supported my decisions, and traveling with him and my family offers constant inspiration. I often find myself pausing films just to study the flower arrangements, and the next day, I’m out shopping for flowers, recreating those designs with my own twist.
Finally, I’m endlessly inspired by Flemish Still Life art and the lavish, abundant designs of the Renaissance, Baroque, and Rococo periods, which continue to fuel my creative vision.
