Hi Dilana, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
When it comes to legacy, I want to be remembered as a force that helped revive neoclassical metal and brought it back into the spotlight. My goal is to create music that stands the test of time – powerful, intricate, and undeniable true to the genre. I want people to remember me for my commitment to artistry and passion, not just as a female singer, but as a serious musician making waves in a genre that deserves recognition. If my work can inspire a new generation to embrace neoclassical metal, than, that’s the legacy I’m aiming for.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As an artist, what sets me apart is my deep passion for neoclassic metal and the unique blend of powerful vocals with intricate guitar work. My musical journey began with a foundation in bass, but I’ve always felt drawn to the stage as a lead vocalist. It wasn’t an easy round, though. Transitioning from my hometown, where the metal scene was limited, to Los Angeles was a huge leap. Attending Musicians Institute opened doors and introduced me to incredible musicians who would become my bandmates in Snifters.

One of my proudest achievements has been creating our upcoming EP, which features a four-piece medieval story. It’s a true labor of love, and I can’t wait to share it with the world. Along the way, I’ve learned that perseverance is key. There have been challenges – navigating the competitive music scene and balancing creative visions with practical realities – but those experiences have only strengthened my resolve.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is the importance of collaboration and support. My band and mentors have been vital in shaping my artistry and pushing me to new heights. I want the world to know that Snifters is here to revive the neoclassic metal genre and make an unforgettable impact. Our music is about authenticity, passion, and a commitment to artistry that resonates with fans old and new.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d want to show them the best time ever. We’d kick things off with a BBQ at home because, honestly, the best food is made with love right in the backyard!

After that, we’d definitely hit the beach – Laguna Beach or Malibu would be the spots. I’m not a fan of tourist crowded places, so these beautiful, laid-back beaches are perfect for soaking up the sun and enjoying some quality time.

Of course, I’d take them to some hidden gem speakeasies that feature the best local bands. I can’t share the names; that’s a secret! But trust me, the vibe and the music at these places are unforgettable.

Overall, it’s all about enjoying good food, beautiful beaches, and amazing music while keeping things relaxed and fun!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! I want to give a huge shoutout to my vocal couch form back home, Ali Batyrkhanov. He was the first one to believe I can shift mountains in this genre and trained me hard, helping me get to where I am today. A big thanks also goes to my vocal teachers at Musicians Institute, Aiym Almas and Brian R. Williams, for their guidance and support. My family has always believed in me, providing unwavering encouragement, and the incredible support from my band has been invaluable. I especially want to give a huge thank you to Sam Fairless – he’s my right hand in the band, and I truly couldn’t do this without all their support!
