Meet Gregory Toplis | CEO and Tavel Guide

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gregory Toplis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gregory, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
So been a guide and manager of some premium 5-star safari lodges in South Africa Lead me to the importance of a travel agent/ operator. Seen what clients want out of a Safari in Africa listing to what they had planned by agents and what they wish they had.
Lead me to the Idea of putting together tailor made packages to Africa and South Africa and meeting the client’s needs and Budget.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
When I decide to start my business, it was to expose as many people as possible to the wonders that South Africa and Africa have to offer from nature, cultural, foods and art that our beautiful country has to offer no matter what the budget. we wanted everyone to experience this amazing country.
Been in the hospitality industry for over than 20 years lead me to this point in my Caree, to be able to put amazing tours together for clients from all walks of life around the world.
It was fairly easy putting this together, in terms of knowing a lot of the product we sell and work with.
What I have learnt is life is to short, take a dream and make it any thing if you can dream it or think it you can achieve it with a bit of hard work.

Gregory Toplis, was born in Johannesburg and being proudly South African, he grew a huge passion for the African bush with his Grandfather, traveling to the Kruger Park and Pilanesburg whenever they got a chance.
When Greg finished school, he studied at the International Hotel School which offered a course called “The Bush Academy”. He managed to work in many luxury lodges as a guide, working his way to Head Guide and then into Management roles, some of them being: Madikwe Hills, Simbavati River Lodge, Simbavati Hilltop, Ezulwini and Mhondoro Safari Lodge and Villa to name a few. Greg’s passion grew into Wildlife Photography being able to work in these breathtaking places.
The adventures never stopped there, and as his passion grew, Greg opted to explore more of the wonders Southern Africa had to offer, leading him into Hosted and Photographic Safaris, to expose people to the wonders and hidden gems that South Africa had to offer, leading him to start Lush African Safaris to help other travellers to similarily experience the wonders of Southern Africa.
