Anastasia Akimkina | Content Creator, Travel Enthusiast & Hostess

I believe that taking risks is an essential part of a happy and fulfilling life. While society imposes certain norms and expectations, it is important to remember what truly brings joy and happiness. In my case, I was expected to secure a “regular” job right after graduation and climb the so-called career ladder. However, deep down in my heart, I knew that this was not at all what I wanted or was ready to dedicate my life to. That is why I spend most of my time creating content, building partnerships with amazing brands and expanding my social media presence. While it is a risk to invest all my time in something as abstract as social media, I am confident it is a much better use of my time, since with each day I dedicate to it, I am closer to my dream. Risk taking has played a huge role in my career. I was working as a security guard at the movie studio where I currently work and was trying to figure out a way to move into the archives department. One day I got assigned to work an archive screening and I took a risk and approached one of the people from the archive–not knowing she was the VP. I asked her about the archive and how I might transfer to the department and she told me to go to UCLA and get an M.A. in Moving Image Archive Studies. Read more>>

Risk in small or large makes no difference, life is a risk already in itself, fear often stops from realizing our dreams, and fear often and willingly does not make us live, I have always been ambitious and determined and I believe that the meaning of life is just that, facing situations and turning into a war machine to realize, and being aware of the whole journey and absorbing every moment, this is the secret of a full, happy life, where the strong and positive emotions leave an indelible mark in my heart. I don’t believe in taking random risks. I believe in taking calculated risks instead. I’ve always looked at my career as a metaphorical empire, and no empire is built in one day. I usually don’t hesitate to take risks in my career. I’m not afraid of failure or taking big swings, and I feel that the more I’ve done it, the easier it becomes. I think I’m more likely to fear mediocrity or stagnation. In many ways, I feel a slight addiction to the chaos and hard work of a lofty goal or project. The challenge, change, and risk excite me.
