Meet Jake Crocker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jake Crocker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jake, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Seeing my people win. For a long time I’ve had a passion for developing artists from the ground up, helping them find their sound and learn themselves. I get a front row seat to the most exciting show on earth, everyday. I love my people, shout out Vinnie WYA, Yonny, and Kate Eberstardt, they’re next up.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I just realized while typing this that I’ve been making music over half my life now, 14 years. I was incredibly lucky to have a family that supported my decision to start pursing music as a career. Getting to where I am today took grit, honestly this industry isn’t for the faint of heart. As somebody who has strong emotions learning how to collaborate and put my head together with other creatives without ego has been the most rewarding challenge to face. This kind of openness creatively has brought so many people and opportunities into my life that simply wouldn’t be if I let my ego get in the way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ahhhh man I’ve been living in LA for the past 6 months now and as a foodie I’ve been trying my best to get around and find my spots. If my homie landed right now first off it better be at Burbank cause that LAX drive hits a little too different. First stop would have to be Homestate for some breakfast tacos, “Lemme get one Guadalupe and two potato tacos please.” Probably rock over to Wake and Late to see my girl Rava who always hooks it up with a fresh cup of coffee (its just like 4 straight shots….. wild… I love it) and a couple bagels that… no lie… rival any bagel I’ve ever had in my life, east and west coast (my ny folk don’t hate me). Back to the crib to get lost in some weird synthesizers for a while. At this point I’m definitely on my phone looking for a comedy show somewhere around the city. If i strike out there we’re heading to either Shatto 39 to bowl so I can show em what this curve is talkin’ about, or popping over to this little gem of a hookah bar I found thats open til 3am and lets you enjoy your own green refreshments.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If I have to give credit to anybody its my family, without the support I had in the beginning theres no shot I would have been able to get after it as young as I did. From my family to my teachers at school, to my friends and people I started with, its been nothing but support for a dream that many people would tell their loved ones is too lofty. Also I love the book Greenlights, shout out McConaughey
