Meet Jordyn Ruiz | Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordyn Ruiz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordyn, do you have a budget? How do you make lifestyle and spending decisions?
I am huge on budgeting!
I created a spreadsheet to see exactly what’s coming in and going out every time I get paid. I like to see where my money goes, because before it would literally vanish and I didn’t have any grip on my finances. It is such an uncomfortable thing to people to sit with, but it is so necessary to be able to sit with your finances and see where it all goes.
I have never been a huge spender. I don’t like buying trendy things and have never been easily influenced by what is viral online. I like to actually go against the grain of what everyone is obsessed with. So I luckily don’t fall into the trap of overconsumption. If I love something I will buy it, but I have to love it and know I will use it often. I also don’t buy name brand things if I can find it for cheaper. I am not at a point YET, in my life where I can just buy name brand things just to flaunt the name and I would rather save the money until buying name brand is not something I need to second guess.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been content creation for a while. I started with makeup tutorials, but that was not something I was passionate about. I didn’t find my spark until around 2022. I had come out of a long term relationship and healed through that and felt I wanted to speak on how I healed my heart through that heartbreak. I started speaking about it on TikTok and things started to pick up. I found that I was very relatable in what I had been through and to see me thriving was something very motivating for others, so I ran with it. I started talking about being single in your 20’s, dating story times cause I have had CRAZY times, living alone and the girls loved it!
I learned that being authentically you is what will set you apart from everyone on the internet. There is room for everyone, but your superpower is that YOU are YOU and nobody can replicate that.
One thing I would want people to know is that hard things in life happen, but it is how we grow through them. I always want to leave people with hope in my videos. Hope that they will heal, grow, be better, they never know what is on the other side of a hard season in life.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom!
I would be nothing without my mom’s love and support. She has always instilled in my brother and I that we can do and be whoever we want, there is no limit to what we will achieve! I now move through life with absolute certainty that what I want in life will manifest as long as I put actions behind my goals.
