We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah A. West and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hannah, how does your business help the community?
The Paranormal Lounge was created to be a unique space where people from all walks of life can explore, discuss, and learn about the paranormal as well as cool events. In a world where topics like ghosts, the supernatural, and unexplained phenomena are often misunderstood or dismissed, I wanted to build a community to share events, stories, and experiences in the world of spooky culture.

We encourage open-minded exploration, which not only helps people feel seen and heard, but also contributes to a broader acceptance of unconventional experience. By creating a welcoming space for people to share, learn, and find common ground, I believe we’re making a positive impact. We’re helping break down stigmas, and encouraging people to embrace the unknown with curiosity instead of fear.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Throughout my career, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work on paranormal TV shows, which has been both exciting and challenging. Working on these shows has taught me so much about storytelling, production, and the importance of authenticity. The experience of exploring haunted locations, meeting fascinating individuals, and sharing their stories with the world has been unforgettable. It’s not always easy, sometimes we face skeptics, technical challenges or unexpected hurdles, but each experience has strengthened my passion for the paranormal.

What sets me apart is my commitment to creating a genuine connection with the audience. This led me to start The Paranormal Lounge, a space where people can discuss and explore the unknown in a welcoming environment.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of perseverance. The paranormal world is not always widely understood, but staying true to my passion has opened doors and connected me with incredible people who share my vision. I’m excited to continue this journey, both through The Paranormal Lounge and any future projects, helping others find wonder and acceptance in the mysteries that surround us.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I’d plan a week packed with unique, spooky, and memorable spots that reflect my love for the paranormal and mysterious.

Day 1: We’d start with breakfast at a cozy local cafe, Aroma Coffee & Tea co, then head to a haunted historic site nearby. Greystone Mansion is always a highlight. I love to share the dark history as well as it’s role in Hollywood films. Exploring the local history and spooky tales would set the tone for the trip. For dinner, we’d go to a themed restaurant that captures a mysterious or gothic atmosphere, such as The Obscure.

Day 2: A full day of ghost hunting! We’d visit some of the most haunted locations in the city, such as The Hollywood Roosevelt, Heritage Square Museum, L.A. General Hospital, Los Feliz Murder Mansion and many more. After a day of exploring ghost stories and local lore, we’d wrap up with a late-night coffee or tea at a spot known for its paranormal sightings.

Day 3: A break from the thrills with a visit to a beautiful botanical garden or scenic park during the day. Later, we’d explore the local antique shops, searching for unique items with their own “energy” and history. Dinner would be at a restaurant with a vintage vibe, I’d suggest, Checker Hall, followed by a drive past some notable, spooky spots for night photography, such as the Michael Myers house in Pasadena.

Day 4: It’s time for a full day at Universal Studios Hollywood, because if you’ve never been before it’s a must! See classic Universal Monsters, experience Jurassic World, Harry Potter World, and of course the Studio Tour tram where Hollywood movies come to life.

Day 5: A museum day! We’d start the morning at Horror Vibes Coffee followed by a visit to a museum with historical artifacts, hoping to catch glimpses of items with a paranormal past. Then, a casual evening checking out local paranormal-themed events, if any, or even a spooky movie night.

Day 6: We’d spend the day exploring some hidden gems in the city that are off the beaten path, perhaps a forgotten cemetery or a lesser-known haunted spot. The evening will end with a hauntingly atmospheric tea party at The Vogel Victorian, where we’ll enjoy a full tea service with elegantly crafted treats and steaming cups of tea. Surrounded by ghostly tales and Victorian charm, this enchanting gathering will be the perfect finale to a day steeped in mystery.

Day 7: A relaxed morning enjoying brunch, followed by some final shopping for unique souvenirs. We’d reflect on our adventures over coffee, already planning the next visit and wondering what other mysteries the city holds.

I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to the incredible people who have supported The Paranormal Lounge from the start. My deepest thanks to my husband, Justin West, whose support and belief in my vision has been essential. A special thank you also goes to my family and friends for their guidance and encouragement. My mom and dad for supporting this vision through thick and thin.
