Hi Destiny, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued an artistic & creative career because it allows me and others to express our emotions and ideas in ways that words alone cannot. Creating art on different nail shapes gives me a sense of fulfillment and joy, as it has been a rewarding outlet for my creativity. I believe that art has the power to inspire and connect all sorts of people, making it a meaningful and impactful. My desire is to inspire others through my passion.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is a unique expression of emotions and ideas, blending different techniques to create pieces that resonate with people on a deeper level. What sets me apart is my love for animals and passion to provide services with no animals derived ingredients at all, 100% vegan- making each piece not just visually appealing but also thought-provoking. I’m most proud of the joy, confidence and happiness my art brings each person that sits in my nail studio.
My journey to where I am today was not easy. It required a lot of dedication, persistence, and overcoming self-doubt. I overcame these challenges by staying true to myself and continuously pushing myself to grow and evolve as not only a person but also as an artist. I’ve also invested in myself taking courses and classes and going to school specifically to be licensed which helped me refine my skills and gain more confidence.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is the value of authenticity. Staying true to my vision and not compromising on being vegan has been crucial. I’ve also learned that resilience is key; setbacks are a part of the journey, and it’s important to learn from them and keep moving forward. Lastly, I’ve realized the importance of connecting with my audience and understanding the impact my art can have on others.
I want the world to know that my creations are more than just a visual experience; it’s a means of connecting people and inspiring them. My brand is built on the belief that animals should be free to exist and not exploited, not even for beauty, that art has the power to make a meaningful impact, and I strive to create pieces that not only express my emotions but also resonate with others.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
After picking up my bestie from the airport we would start our day with a pick up of delicious vegan food at LUCKY CATSU & ALL VEGAN FRANKS in Lincoln Heights.
We would then head over to a beautiful beach since my bestie lives in a desert and doesn’t get to see the beach waves often. We would play with my dog Shadow and watch the sunset. We’d plan to go the following day to explore the Arts District in Downtown LA for cool street art and galleries! Walk through the Santee Alley and pick up a few goodies to give her that LA experience. I would hit up Troy Jones , owner of Golze Blon to get my girly some refills on her body batter & Golze Mystique. We’d then head over to my nail studio Vegan Beautied located 15min from DTLA in Rosemead CA to get her nails right ! The days to follow would be showing her my favorite small businesses like Vegan Hot Honey & Babas Iris ! We would request a sound bath from Jannah Alchemist before my bestie heads back home !
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am immensely grateful for my friends who believed in me and pushed me to keep seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on the best and then hardest days. There was times I thought I wasn’t qualified and with just a little faith I found out I was meant to fill in spaces.
