How did you come up with the idea for your business?

It takes a lot more than an idea to build a business, but there can’t be a business without the idea. So we asked folks who’ve built wonderful businesses to tell us about how they came up with the idea in the first place.

I came up with the idea for my business by consistently overhearing friends talk about how bad dating in LA has become. However, noticing that there wasn’t a place for growth or an outlet where people could grow together to speak their minds about how they truly felt about situations for deeper emotional connection, I wanted to start an organization to help create a wellness support group. I started my business, Food Kids Love, because when my daughter was a toddler, I was struggling with a picky eater. I was looking for a community—a village of parents dealing with the same challenges—so I decided to start a blog to share my journey. Growing up in a Korean immigrant family, food was always a huge part of my life—it was all about bringing people together. I loved adding a bit of my own cultural influence and showing how to make kid friendly food and Korean food easy and approachable for little ones. That blog let me combine my love of writing, photography, and food, and eventually grew into my business. Read more>>

I have always loved doing my nails wether it was painting them or trying to learn how to do acrylic I just loved doing nails it’s was my creative outlet besides makeup. When I would do my nails I always got compliments and they were always so surprised I did them myself. I also really loved buying press on nails from the store but I would honestly just buy them to remove the design they already had on just to re do it to something else lol. I remember I even tried to start a nail business doing other people’s nails years ago but I needed more practice their nails did not last at all and I was really scared to mess up their nails or hands so I stopped.
