Meet Kevin Edilson | Musician Composer & Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Edilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kevin, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
I feel like habits that directly correlate to my consistency helped me succeed. Like telling myself that I have to always stay active, practice, and find new ways of becoming better are all directly related to the success I have found so far, and that I am constantly searching for. I truly believe that consistency is something that people tend to overlook. At least from my point of view, my consistency is what keeps me going and is what always brings more opportunities to my door step. As an artist I believe it is important to stay busy and working on your craft every single chance you get. And this in itself screams consistency. So definitely being consistent in practicing my craft, finding work, networking, showing up, holding myself accountable, all work together to foster my success.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a musician, composer and artist, I believe that what sets me apart is my ability to self teach and to be able to tackle various forms of art. These can be Composing music for a Film, TV Show, Commercial Spot, a Game, producing music for myself and other artists and singers, and more. I don’t like to put myself in a box, so I do more than one form of art, and I often combine these different forms or art to end up creating my unique sound and approach.
I am most proud of releasing my first music video for my song “Gun To My Head”, along with scoring an epic Western Short Film Directed by my friend “Jay Bolusan and Nathan Bogdan”, getting my music recognized and praised by the great producer “Timbaland”, and I am also very excited for all the projects I am involved next year 2025. From releasing numerous music videos for my music, to scoring more than 4 films, to collaborating with new artists. I am very proud and excited for it all.
Getting to this “beginning” stage of myself career was not easy at all. I had to sacrifice a lot of social events with friends, I had to spends countless nights working my craft, I had to be away from my family back in Mozambique, and I had to cut back on a lot of spendings to be ale to push my career further everyday. And I still find myself doing some of these things, because I am still on the way to my goals, the fight is never over.
A big lesson I always find myself learning over and over again, is that I must have a clear and strong mind towards my goals, and not be afraid to fail. Because failure is ultimately what brought me to being the person and artist I am today. And through this I had to create a good relationship with failure, in which every time I fail I remind myself that my moment is near, and that because I will win, I should never quit. Because ultimately winners never quit.
The world will know my story to be proof that never giving up is actually how one wins. I haven’t achieved everything I set out to do, but once I achieve that, the world will understand that I am a product of self belief, and a product of getting up every time I fall.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
These places are very popular and regular to a person that has lived in LA for a while, but I find them to be very important and interesting in LA.
The Observatory, is in my opinion one of the greatest places to see in LA. It has a staggering view of the whole landscape of LA for its iconic location, it is very close to the famous “Hollywood” sign, and you can also learn a lot about space while being there. Overall great experience.
The Walk Of Fame is also very fun to be in, it’s a place where you get to experience your favorite names in the entertainment world, while also grabbing a bite around it. It is very crowded, which to me is an indication of its massive popularity. I believe my friends would enjoy these two places.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I believe my friend Chanel Williams deserves some credit and recognition, because she is such a hard worker and extremely talented Director and Producer. Chanel is the definition of being self made, she has worked in the industry for more than 14 years, and she is still growing. She is working on starting her production company “Alpha Pack” where she plans on creating great projects for film, TV and commercials. Not only has she achieved a lot of success for herself, but she is always working on being better and achieving more.
