We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazmin Guerrero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jazmin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The desire to start my own business stems, first and foremost, from the fact that I am an entrepreneur at heart. Throughout my career, I’ve pursued various ventures, starting with my first business—Urge Magazine, an online women’s lifestyle magazine in the early 2000s. We were ahead of the curve, streaming audio, video, and music before platforms like YouTube, Spotify, MySpace, or Instagram even existed.

Being a leader and innovator comes naturally to me. I value the flexibility that comes from being able to control my time, the financial freedom it offers, and creative process involved. There’s an unparalleled sense of fulfillment that comes from building something from the ground up—sharing your vision with the world, knowing it originated from your heart.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am deeply passionate about being a female entrepreneur, a leader, and a source of confidence and empowerment for others. My mission is to inspire people to thrive, to believe in themselves, and to know they can create the life they truly desire. I believe that when you follow your passions and listen to your heart, work becomes a joy, and happiness naturally follows.

My journey has been anything but linear. I am a multi-passionate individual who has explored various paths, from founding an online magazine in the early internet era to being a singer and bass player in an LA-based band, a photographer, a wellness practitioner, and an art curator. I’ve traveled across the U.S. twice, explored Europe, exhibited my photography, produced and curated art and wellness events, and been on numerous music tours. Each experience has added depth to my creative journey and shaped the way I connect with my community.

What sets me apart is not only my diverse experiences but my unwavering belief in self-leadership and self-love. To me, true success comes from cultivating a deep relationship with yourself, trusting your intuition, and maintaining alignment with your purpose. The universe is always listening, and by staying positive and focused, we can manifest incredible things.

My latest venture, Fabulati, embodies this philosophy. It’s a lifestyle brand dedicated to empowering individuals to be the most fabulous version of themselves—inside and out. It’s more than a brand; it’s a culture of self-love, confidence, and prioritizing yourself so you can pour into others. Fabulati encourages a mindset of abundance, a healthy mind and body, and passions fueled by love and purpose.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that self-awareness and alignment with your intuition are key to navigating life’s challenges. Trusting myself has guided me through obstacles and allowed me to embrace opportunities. I want the world to know that you can create a life filled with beauty, passion, and purpose by putting yourself first and staying true to your vision.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend visited for a week, I’d plan an itinerary that showcases the diverse and vibrant experiences Southern California has to offer. I love playing personal concierge and curating the best experiences for visitors, blending culture, food, self-care, and iconic destinations.

Day 1:
Start with a food tour of LA’s cultural hotspots! Explore Koreatown for authentic Korean BBQ, Little Tokyo for Shabu Shabu at the Shabu Shabu House. End the day with drinks at the rooftop bar at Perch in Downtown LA, with its breathtaking skyline views.

Day 2:
Self-care day! Begin at the Century Day & Night Spa in Koreatown, a true hidden gem. Then take a scenic drive to the Ojai Valley Inn for a luxurious spa experience including the Kuyam and dinner at Oviella and Vine restaurant.

Day 3:
Enjoy the arts and culture of LA. Start with a visit to the Getty Villa Museum followed by lunch at Malibu Farm Café overlooking the ocean. Drive along the Pacific Coast Highway and enjoy sunset views.

Day 4:
Explore Downtown LA’s art scene with stops at MOCA and The Broad Museum. Have lunch at Joyce, and finish with a show at the Wiltern Theater or Hollywood Bowl for some live entertainment.

Day 5:
A day in Beverly Hills! Stroll along Rodeo Drive, then enjoy lunch at The Hideaway, a chic spot with a touch of old Hollywood glamour. Later, hike Runyon Canyon for spectacular views of the city.

Day 6:
Head out to Desert Hot Springs for a rejuvenating soak at Two Bunch Palms, known for its natural mineral-rich waters. On the way back, stop by Palm Springs for some mid-century modern architecture and boutique shopping.

Day 7:
Hitting up the eclectic shops in Topanga Canyon. Ending the day at either Cafe 27 or Inn of the 7th Ray.

I love LA it is so diverse with so many different things to do. I would like to highlight the best of food, culture, relaxation, and adventure. It’s a mix of iconic spots and hidden gems that truly define the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There have been so many individuals, communities, and experiences that have contributed to my journey. First and foremost, I want to acknowledge my time working at KTLA with the Emmy award winning television show Making It: Minority Success Stories. Working for Nelson Davis TV Productions was truly the catalyst for my entrepreneurial spark. Nelson Davis, the owner and producer, was an incredible mentor who encouraged and nurtured my entrepreneurial spirit. The show highlighted how minority business owners started their careers and built their companies, which was deeply inspiring and shaped my perspective.

I also owe a lot to the vibrant artist community in Los Angeles. As a creative at heart—whether it be photography, makeup artistry, wellness practices, or music—being surrounded by such talent and passion has profoundly inspired me. Living and working in Los Angeles has been instrumental in shaping how I approach and run my business. The city’s creative energy and entrepreneurial culture have had a lasting impact on my journey, and I am deeply grateful for that.
