Meet Heather Nickel | Certified Holistic Transformation Coach & Energy Healer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Nickel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Heather, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I would have to say the most important factor behind my success is being energetically aligned with the work I teach. I don’t just coach transformation; I embody it. My success comes from consistently doing the inner work—clearing limiting beliefs, mastering my emotions, and ensuring my energy aligns with my desires.
By prioritizing my own growth, I show up fully for my clients, holding space for deep transformation. When I lead with alignment, opportunities flow, the right clients find me, and my business expands effortlessly. For me, success isn’t just about external results—it’s about feeling clear, fulfilled, and in tune with the life I’m creating. When I live in that space, success becomes a natural extension of who I am.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Beyond Better Life, I help high-achieving women master their emotions, rewire their minds, and align their energy with the life they truly desire. My clients often come to me feeling stuck in cycles of burnout, self-doubt, or frustration—knowing they’re meant for more but unsure how to break free. Through a holistic blend of mindset coaching, emotional mastery, somatic healing, energy work, nutrition, and lifestyle shifts, I guide them toward deep, lasting transformation.
What sets me apart is my multi-dimensional approach. I don’t just focus on mindset or strategy—I integrate healing across mind, body, and energy, ensuring that success, fulfillment, and joy become a natural state rather than something they have to chase. I’m most proud of the transformations my clients experience—watching them go from stuck and overwhelmed to confident, aligned, and thriving. Seeing a woman step into her power, trust herself, and create the life she once thought was out of reach is the most rewarding part of what I do.
Right now, I am most excited about my upcoming Women’s Renewal Retreat, a deeply immersive two-day experience designed for women who need to step away, reset, and gain clarity. It is being held in a stunning ocean-view villa in Santa Barbara, this retreat is all about renewal, transformation, and stepping into confidence. So many women feel stuck in the day-to-day grind, knowing they need a shift but unsure how to create it. This retreat is that shift. We have just a few spots left for April 5th and 6th, and I can’t wait to welcome those who are ready for this transformation.
Going into business for myself was not easy and nothing like I expected. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, I thought I had an idea of what it would take—but stepping into entrepreneurship on my own was a whole different story. I have had many pivots along the way. I started as a Board-Certified Integrative Nutrition Coach, specializing in autoimmune issues and food sensitivities. But I quickly realized that people don’t like being told they can’t eat their favorite foods—even when those foods are making them sick. And honestly, it didn’t bring me joy to be the bearer of bad news. So, I pivoted. I created The Sober Effect RX, a holistic program for women wanting to quit alcohol and break free from gray-area drinking. It was incredibly rewarding, but I noticed a pattern—whether it was food, alcohol, or any other habit, the real struggle wasn’t just about what they were consuming. Their thoughts and emotions were running the show. That realization led me to mindset work, emotional mastery, and somatic healing, which became the missing piece. No matter the challenge—whether in business, relationships, or health—it all came down to subconscious programming, nervous system regulation, and energy alignment. That’s when my coaching truly evolved, and my business took off.
This journey has had many challenges the biggest was growing my business while navigating life’s plot twists. I navigated breast cancer, a major move, and a home renovation—all while running a company. There were moments I wanted to quit, moments that felt impossible. But I built my business on referrals alone, and for two years, it thrived purely through word-of-mouth from the incredible women I’ve helped.
I’ve learned that entrepreneurship demands growth. You have to embrace change, trust yourself, and do the inner work. Every challenge I’ve faced has pushed me to raise my vibration, stay solution-focused, and align with joy and abundance. When I do that, opportunities flow, clients show up, and business feels effortless.
What I want the world to know is that transformation is possible at any age. Over a decade ago, I was miserable, anxious, depressed, and battling autoimmune issues. Doctors handed me prescriptions and diagnoses that felt like life sentences. But I refused to accept that. I searched for holistic answers—starting with nutrition and lifestyle, then layering in energy healing, mindset work, and emotional mastery. The result? I healed. I freed myself from anxiety, depression, addiction, and even breast cancer—all without pharmaceuticals. Now, I help other women do the same. I help them break free from limitations, heal emotional wounds, and align with the life they truly want.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh, this is fun! I love discovering hidden gems and cool experiences in SoCal. If my best friend were visiting, I’d make sure they got a little bit of everything—great food, nature, and places they wouldn’t find on their own.
We’d start the day with coffee at Ten Speed Coffee in Old Town Calabasas and head to Malibu Creek State Park for a hike. After that, I’d stop at Erewhons in Calabasas for one of their famous smoothies. A trip to L.A. wouldn’t be complete without checking out the Hollywood Walk of Fame, catching a movie at the Egyptian Theatre, and stopping by Michelangelo Ristorante for their homemade pasta or pizza. They actually fly their flour in from Italy!
For a more relaxed day, we’d hit Santa Monica Beach, have lunch at Shutters on the Beach, and walk the pier. In Venice, we’d stop at The New Bar to check out their non-alcoholic wine selection, then head to Ecstatic Dance on the beach. It’s like a silent disco but barefoot in the sand, dancing however you feel. It sounds a little out there, but once you’re in it, it’s incredible.
Another favorite spot is The Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens in Pasadena. Walking through the gardens is breathtaking, and their art museums always feature new exhibits. We’d have lunch at their Café 1919, which has great farm-to-table options.
If we were in the mood for an adventure, Long Beach would be the move—touring The Queen Mary, renting kayaks to explore the canals, and wandering through Shoreline Village to check out the shops and street performers.
For a night out, The Magic Castle is hands down one of the most unique places in L.A.—if you can get in, you have to go. And if it’s the weekend, I’d take them to brunch at Catch LA for the city views and amazing food, then spend the afternoon at LACMA, walking through the exhibits and taking in the outdoor art installations. We’d finish the night at El Coyote for dinner—the food is great, and it has that old-school Hollywood feel. On the last day, I’d keep it simple—maybe grab a green juice at Juicy Ladies and take a long walk on the beach. Even after all that, we’d barely scratch the surface—there’s always something new to discover here, which is why I love it so much.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I have to give immense gratitude to my partner, Allen—my rock, my greatest supporter, and the one who always reminds me I’m on the right path. When it comes to books and mentors, there are too many to name them all, but a few that have profoundly influenced me include The Work by Byron Katie, the teachings of Abraham Hicks, and The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Abraham Hicks completely transformed my understanding of vibrational alignment and manifestation, while Eckhart Tolle’s wisdom on presence and consciousness reshaped how I approach life and coaching. My mastery certification through the Institute for Coaching Mastery deepened my expertise in mindset, emotional mastery, and somatic healing—tools I now use daily in my work. And, of course, my clients. Every session is a powerful reminder that we are all mirrors for each other. The work we do together is not just transformational for them—it continuously helps me grow, too.
