We had the good fortune of connecting with Landon Brittain and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Landon, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I sort of fell into it. Growing up in Medicine Lodge, Kansas—where I was born on January 15, 1982—I was an avid Marvel Comics fan and collector. That early fascination with superheroes drove me to pursue competitive bodybuilding and aim for physical goals most people never imagined. But at 6’5″ tall, I realized pushing my body to peak competitive levels could be dangerous to my health. After moving to Los Angeles, I shifted my focus to something more financially and mentally productive and started my home restoration company, Destination Restoration. However, because of my physique (muscular and tall), friends in Hollywood encouraged me to try acting. That blend of physical presence and creativity created a perfect storm, and I soon found myself on theatrical sets, including superhero projects that allowed me to bring my childhood dreams to life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what sets me apart is my ability to adapt and thrive in completely different industries. Whether it’s running a successful business or stepping onto a film set, I approach everything with the same mindset—figure out what works, put in the effort, and stay consistent. That’s probably what I’m most proud of: being able to build something from nothing, more than once.
Getting here wasn’t easy. There’s no playbook for jumping from one career to another, and I’ve had to learn a lot through trial and error. Early on, I had to prove myself constantly—whether it was in business or Hollywood. But I’ve found that showing up, doing the work, and keeping your word opens more doors than anything else.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that nothing happens overnight. You don’t just wake up successful—you have to build it, brick by brick. And sometimes, what you start out chasing isn’t what you end up doing. That’s okay. The key is knowing when to pivot and making the most of every opportunity.
At the end of the day, I want people to know that my story isn’t about being one thing. It’s about taking risks, betting on yourself, and knowing that your background—no matter how unexpected—can actually be your biggest advantage.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, I’d make sure they got the full L.A. experience—starting with a stay at The Castle (which is what I call my place). Nothing beats kicking back at home before heading out to explore the city.

One of the first things we’d do is hit the Hollywood Sign Hike—it’s the best way to get that classic L.A. view and a solid workout at the same time. After that, we’d grab food at Pace in Laurel Canyon. It’s a hidden gem with great food and the kind of laid-back atmosphere that makes you forget you’re in the middle of a major city. And right next door, The Laurel Canyon Country Store is a must-stop—there’s so much history there, and it still has that old-school rock-and-roll energy.

For a more upscale but still cool and intimate vibe, Petit Ermitage is the spot. The rooftop is great for drinks, and it’s got that artistic, off-the-beaten-path feel that makes it stand out from the usual Hollywood nightlife.

I’d also take them to Franklin Village—it’s a mix of fun bars, comedy shows, and unique little shops, so there’s always something interesting happening. Whether it’s catching a show at UCB or just people-watching, it’s one of those places that gives you a real feel for L.A.’s creative scene.

The week would be a mix of iconic L.A. experiences and more hidden, locals-only spots—just the right balance of adventure and relaxation.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the people who pushed me to step outside my comfort zone. First, my parents—whether they fully understood my path or not, they taught me discipline and resilience, which have been key in everything I’ve done.

In business, I have to give credit to the CEO I worked under in the restoration industry. He was the one who initially brought me into the field, and that opportunity set off a chain reaction that eventually led me to start Destination Restoration.

On the entertainment side, I have to recognize the friends and connections in Hollywood who saw potential in me before I even considered acting. Their encouragement gave me the push I needed to take that leap.

Beyond individuals, I’d say experience itself has been my greatest mentor. Trial and error, setbacks and wins—that’s where I’ve learned the most. Every challenge has shaped how I approach business, acting, and life in general.
