We had the good fortune of connecting with Allen Rubin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Allen, how does your business help the community?
Our business is all about helping the community by way of giving them the ability to create, run, and prosper from their own business venture ideas. As we say, “You think it and we can build it”. We excel and thrive in assisting entrepreneurs get a sturdy stance on their own two feet. Manifesting an idea into a reality is what creates miracles. This is why our focus is on SELF SUFFICIENCY. In today’s world, with the financial difficulties faced by BILLIONS of people, having one’s own future in the palm of their hands is the motivation that gives us reason to rejoice daily. It’s a blessing to be able to offer our skills and knowledge to others in order for them to grow and become independent. We develop websites and mobile apps for many different types of businesses and people. From small mom and pops stores and services, to large corporations that employ many people. We cherish the opportunity to help others the best we can.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have always been a creative person, inventing products, bringing them into reality, and getting them out into the world. I am also a 5th degree martial artist who has been inducted into 8 Martial Arts Hall of Fames, performing stunts, acting, and fight choreography for movies with the likes of Chuck Norris, Jean Claude Van Damme, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steven Seagal, Mike Myers, and a slew of other top name actors. I am known in the Martial Arts world as Nunchaku King (www.NunchakuKing.com). I have produced movies as well. I feel that making websites or developing mobile apps is similar to making movies because it has to be enticing and captivating in order to keep the visitors interest and attention. You wouldn’t want anyone to walk out of your movie screening or be bored by it. This is what my life skills has brought me, in order to integrate into my business and methods and to share with others. Nothing has been easy. Everything requires persistence, fortitude, longevity, and most of all faith. There’s a saying “If it were easy, everyone would be doing it”. That’s what keeps me going, especially through the tough times. But I would never change a thing. No one ever became great without trial and tribulations.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I take all of my visitors (friends and family) who come to my area (Redondo Beach) on what I call My Tour. Being that I live right by the beach, I take them by car to multiple photo opportunity spots. We start with the beach cruise where we most likely see dolphins swimming (Photo Op), then we head into Palos Verdes where the views are breathtaking (another Photo Op), to the cliffs where the surfers climb down (no one wants to climb down the cliffs with me…CHICKENS), to a spot I call the Magic Tree (A Pine tree that hangs over the cliff and it’s roots are like seats to relax on), to the cove where you can see Catalina Island and nature at its most divine, and finally to place we call Crows Nest which has an almost 360 degree view from Long Beach to Malibu, downtown LA to Westwood, all in one view. I would then take them to my favorite restaurant called Blue Salt Fish Grill (2 locations in the South Bay). I love taking people on dolphin and whale watching tours from different locations (Long Beach, Newport Beach, Dana Point to name a few). It’s so amazing to connect to hundreds, if not thousands, of dolphins swimming together freely (say NO to captivity venues). Other places I like to take my guests are the mountains like Big Bear, Mt Baldy, or Lake Arrowhead. If we have time and they don’t have plans, we could squeeze a short trip to Vegas. No promises, but if you behave….
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are many along the way that help push you to become a better person and assist you on staying on your path. I have found that Kabbalah (an ancient wisdom) has prepared me in many ways. It’s about transforming into a being of sharing & caring, and giving to others who need the help, I also give a lot of credit to the network group (South Bay LeTip) who has been referring me to clients for over 14 years. Having a group of like minded people watching out for you and your business is key. Word of mouth goes a long way. My parents have also given me a strong basis of character. I cannot give them enough credit!
