We had the good fortune of connecting with Viktoriia Nazarenko and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Viktoriia, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I believe my business, as a makeup artist, makes a significant positive impact on both the community and the world. Through my work, I empower individuals by helping them express their unique identities and feel confident in their own skin. Every client I work with leaves not just looking enhanced, but feeling more self-assured and ready to take on the day.

Moreover, I actively promote inclusivity by celebrating diverse beauty standards and challenging conventional norms. I create a welcoming space where everyone, regardless of their background, feels accepted and valued.

I also see my role as extending beyond the one-on-one client relationship. I regularly host workshops and community events that bring people together to share tips, learn about new trends, and support one another. This not only fosters a sense of community but also contributes to local economic growth by supporting related businesses and opportunities.

In short, my work is about more than just makeup—it’s about uplifting people, building a supportive community, and contributing to a more inclusive world.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Makeup, for me, is more than just beauty—it’s about confidence, self-expression, and transformation. I see each face as a unique canvas, and my goal is to enhance natural beauty rather than mask it. Whether it’s a glowing bridal look, a soft and romantic style, or a bold editorial statement, I love creating looks that make my clients feel their best. my approach is deeply personal. With 12 years in the beauty industry, I’ve worked with countless clients, brides, and students. I don’t just apply makeup—I connect with people, understand their vision, and bring it to life. My expertise also extends to teaching, where I have helped many aspiring makeup artists refine their skills and build their own successful careers. I take great pride in the trust my clients place in me, especially brides on their most important day. Being a part of their special moments and seeing their reactions when they look in the mirror is truly rewarding. Right now, I’m excited about expanding my work in the U.S., connecting with new clients, and continuing to grow as an artist in this new environment. definitely not easy. Moving to a new country and starting over in an industry where personal connections are everything was a big challenge. But my experience, passion, and determination helped me push through. I focused on networking, showcasing my work, and continuously improving my skills to adapt to new trends and demands.
The biggest lesson is that persistence and passion will always open doors. It’s important to stay confident, keep learning, and build strong relationships in the industry. Also, every client is unique, and understanding their needs is key to creating a look they will love. My work is about more than just makeup—it’s about making people feel beautiful and confident in their own skin. I want to bring my experience and artistry to a wider audience and continue inspiring others, whether through my clients or my students. This journey has been incredible, and I’m excited to see what’s next!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Los Angeles, I’d make sure they experienced the best of the city—its iconic spots, hidden gems, and the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. We’d start with a laid-back morning in Venice, grabbing breakfast at a cozy café before strolling along Abbot Kinney Boulevard for boutique shopping and street art. A sunset visit to Griffith Observatory would be the perfect way to take in the city’s beauty, followed by dinner at a stylish restaurant and cocktails at a rooftop bar with breathtaking views.

No trip to LA is complete without exploring Hollywood and Beverly Hills. We’d walk along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, take a scenic drive through Mulholland Drive, and stop for a luxurious lunch in Beverly Hills before indulging in some shopping on Rodeo Drive. To balance the city’s glamour with nature, we’d spend a day in Malibu—starting with a morning hike in the canyons, followed by a relaxing beach afternoon at El Matador and a sunset drive along the Pacific Coast Highway.

Downtown LA would offer a cultural escape, with a visit to The Broad Museum, a stop in Little Tokyo for matcha treats, and a stylish lunch at Bottega Louie. A fun-filled day at Universal Studios would bring out our adventurous side, with thrilling rides and magical experiences at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. For a more relaxed beach day, we’d rent bikes and cruise from Venice to Santa Monica, stopping at the pier for some classic LA vibes before finishing the night with a delicious Mediterranean-style dinner overlooking the ocean.

Before saying goodbye, we’d enjoy a slow morning at a charming café, take some last-minute photos at the famous Urban Light installation, and grab a trendy smoothie at Erewhon—because what’s a trip to LA without experiencing its wellness culture? This week would be the perfect blend of city life, coastal relaxation, and unforgettable moments.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely! My journey as a makeup artist wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support and inspiration I’ve received along the way. First and foremost, I want to dedicate my shoutout to my amazing clients and students—every person I’ve worked with has shaped me as an artist and pushed me to grow. Seeing their confidence shine after a makeup session or watching my students develop their own successful careers is what truly fuels my passion.

I’m also incredibly grateful to my mentors and fellow artists in the beauty industry. Learning from talented professionals, exchanging ideas, and constantly being inspired by their creativity has played a huge role in my success. Moving to the U.S. was a big step, and I couldn’t have done it without the love and encouragement of my friends and family. Their belief in me gave me the confidence to start over in a new country, build a new client base, and continue doing what I love.

Lastly, I have to give credit to the beauty industry itself—brands, trends, and artistry that keep evolving and inspiring me every day. Makeup isn’t just about beauty; it’s about empowerment, self-expression, and transformation, and I’m honored to be part of this world.
