We had the good fortune of connecting with Youstee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Youstee, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
To me, success isn’t only about short-term flashy moments—it’s about sustainability. It’s about being able to maintain yourself and keep the people you love secure, supported, and thriving alongside you. Real success is when you’re no longer chasing happiness like it’s some fleeting thing, but instead you’re grounded in fulfillment. It’s a deeper kind of peace—knowing you’re aligned with your purpose, doing what you love, and creating something meaningful, not just for yourself but for those around you. It’s not just about reaching a peak—it’s about being able to stay there and bring others with you.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is a reflection of contrast—it lives in the space between darkness and sensuality, vulnerability and power. I blend genres that resonate with people’s soul to create something that feels cinematic and emotionally charged. I want my music to feel like a fragrance—something you remember, something that lingers. That’s actually how I design my sound: rich, bold, smooth, intoxicating…

What sets me apart is that I’m not chasing trends—I’m building a universe. I’m intentional about every layer, from the sound design to the visuals, to the energy I bring into a room. I’m proud of the fact that I’ve stayed authentic to my vision, even when it would’ve been easier to just fit in. I’ve been mentored by some incredible people in the industry, and I’ve had the chance to learn from real experiences—not just in studios, but in life.

One of the biggest challenges for me has been overcoming overthinking and the pursuit of perfection. I used to overanalyze every decision, trying to make everything flawless, and that would often hold me back. Over time, I’ve learned that not every move needs to be picked apart—sometimes, you just have to trust your instincts and keep things moving forward. Managing that tendency to overthink has been a huge part of my growth. It’s about finding the balance between being intentional and not getting stuck in your head. That mental discipline has become just as crucial as the creative process.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that consistency beats hype. Talent gets you in the room, but discipline, vision, and resilience keep you there. I want the world to know that I’m not just an artist—I’m a force. This isn’t just music for me, it’s legacy. My story is still being written, but everything I do is rooted in impact, connection, and creating something timeless.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting, I’d take them on a mix of outdoor adventures and local experiences. We’d start with a hike for great views, then grab some authentic Italian food. After a relaxed lunch, we’d drive down the coast, stopping for a surf session and a drink at a chill spot. One day, we’d go on a backpacking trip in the mountains or a desert hike. Dinner would be at a cozy Italian restaurant, and we’d end the day exploring the city—checking out live music, hitting the beach, and discovering some art galleries. It’s all about a balance of adventure, good food, and fun.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my mentors, Allan Rich and Bobby Borg. Their guidance and support have been invaluable in shaping both my career and mindset. Allan’s wealth of knowledge in the music industry and Bobby’s insight into both the business side and creative side of being an artist have helped me stay focused and keep pushing forward. They’ve been there to share wisdom, challenge me, and remind me to always stay true to myself. Without their mentorship, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
