Meet Kamia Green

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kamia Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kamia, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
Losing my mother at such a young age young age and my most vital years a women was the hardest thing to get through. So I already considered myself successful and blessed. And I want to inspire other women that losing a parent or a mother is not the end of the world.
want my legacy to be one of resilience, compassion, and impact. I want to be remembered as someone who faced adversity with strength, who uplifted others in their struggles, and who used my experiences to create meaningful change. Whether through my work, my relationships, or my contributions to my community, I hope to leave a lasting impression of kindness, perseverance, and a commitment to making the world a better place. More than anything, I want people to remember me as someone who never gave up and who inspired others to keep going, no matter the challenges they faced.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My journey as a hairstylist has been anything but linear. I initially pursued a degree in sports journalism, knowing I loved writing but never feeling truly passionate about it. Meanwhile, doing hair was something that naturally consumed my time—I was drawn to it in a way that writing never could match. After graduating from college in December 2023, I finally took the leap and enrolled in cosmetology school in 2024.
The path wasn’t easy. With two siblings to support, my dream of attending hair school had to be put on hold, but I don’t regret the timing. In fact, I believe last year was the perfect moment to start. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of community and having a strong foundation. Without it, life can feel overwhelming, and it takes a toll on your mental health.
What sets me apart is that I show up and support and my friends are a testament to that.what you should know about my brand is that you will be slayed , laid and taught about hair care.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
1. Upon arrival I would go to a restaurant in Woodland Hills called Casalena for authentic Italian
2. For a morning hike I would go to Griffith park all the way up to the observatory to see a skyline view of La or to Runyon Canyon
3. For the culture Dockweiler or the slauson super mall. And stop by Woody’s bbq . Any event going on at Liemert Park
4. I would end my trip at Santa Monica pier

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I thank my family , my mom’s college friends ,boyfriend and God for really being there when life didn’t feel like living anymore. But mosMy mother was my rock and still pushed me to keep going.
