We had the good fortune of connecting with Giri Srinivasan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Giri, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
One of the most difficult decisions I’ve had to make was choosing to leave India again and return to the U.S. on my own to restart my journey after the pandemic. It meant stepping away from the comfort of home and starting over, but I knew it was necessary to pursue my goals.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m an aspiring actor originally from Chennai, India. What sets me apart is that I’m not just an actor—I’ve taken the time to learn the entire filmmaking process. While my core focus has always been on performance—acting, singing, dancing, and beatboxing—I’ve also spent the past few years immersing myself in the technical and creative sides of filmmaking. This well-rounded perspective allows me to approach my work with a deeper understanding of the entire craft.

My journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve had to adapt to a whole new country and culture, live through a global pandemic, industry strikes, LA wildfires, and the constant changes that come with life in Hollywood. But through it all, I’ve learned resilience, patience, and the value of staying grounded. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to take things one step at a time and to show up with genuine intention—because great things take time.

Right now, I’m focused on building not just my craft, but also my brand. What started as a passion and learning experience has now evolved into something I live for. I’ve realized that even though I approach my work with joy and curiosity, I’m taking it more seriously now—because it means everything to me. I want the world to know that I’m here to create, to connect, and to keep growing—not just as an artist, but as a storyteller who bridges cultures and brings something fresh to the table.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Los Angeles is one of those cities that never stops inspiring. One of my favorite spots is the Mulholland Drive Overlook, which offers a stunning 360-degree view of the city—including the iconic Hollywood Sign. Whether you’re watching the sun dip behind the hills or catching the city lights at night, the view is absolutely unforgettable.

When it comes to beach days, Venice Beach is always a vibe. It’s got that raw, creative energy with street performers, skaters, musicians, and art on every corner. It’s the kind of place where time just slips away.

For food and easy-going hangouts, I usually take friends to West Hollywood or somewhere in Downtown LA—both have a great mix of casual spots and exciting energy. LA’s food scene is world-class, and I’ve slowly but surely become an ice cream person. I now know all the best ice cream spots in the city, and Bacio di Latte is always my go-to when I want to impress friends with something sweet and special.

As for entertainment, LA’s calendar is packed year-round. Some of my favorite venues include the Dolby Theatre, Universal CityWalk, and the Hollywood Bowl. Whether it’s a live concert, movie premiere, or just a night of good vibes, there’s always something happening in this city.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a shoutout to all my friends in LA—many of whom are fellow artists and filmmakers from around the world. It takes a lot of courage to leave your comfort zone and pursue a creative dream in a new country, and I truly admire that. I also want to credit the New York Film Academy (NYFA) for playing a key role in my journey. The training, support, and connections I gained there have been instrumental in helping me get to where I am today.
