We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcie Smolin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marcie, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am a Los Angeles native. Born and raised in L.A. Being that I grew up right in the middle of all things show biz I became a child actor. I basically worked in all areas of the business, in front of an behind the camera. From child actor, to stand up comic, to series regular to writer/director. All roads I took lead me to where I am today. I still work in all those areas. But my biggest love and passion is The Actors Circle. I started the studio 23 years ago.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think what sets me apart from others is that I work and have worked in all aspects of my craft. Both in from of and behind the camera. I started very young in television commercials and moved on to tv and film. I then became a standup comic and from there wrote screenplays. From there I formed a production company that produced and directed comedy shorts for various streaming services. In 2003 I opened The Actors Circle in Culver City which is an acting studio for actors of all ages. I feel my experience and knowledge gives me a great foundation to guide actors in their careers. In addition I have had a resurgence in my comedy career in the form of social media, where I am once again creating comedy shorts….which have become pretty popular. It was never my intention to become a “mature”influencer. But here I am!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
