We had the good fortune of connecting with Dahlene Holliness and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dahlene, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business stemmed from a deep desire to create spaces and experiences that reflect the richness of who we are as multifaceted women. As someone who wears many hats—mother, wife, counselor, entrepreneur—I recognized the need for a lifestyle that embraces both luxury and leisure, without compromise. Lovelux was born from the vision of transforming luxury into a tool for self-discovery, romantic connection, and soulful living. I wanted to build something that empowers women to reclaim their joy, indulge in curated experiences, and ultimately become HER—the highest, most fulfilled version of themselves. With my background in education, empowerment, and travel, it felt natural to blend it all into a boutique lifestyle company that uplifts others through meaningful, transformative experiences.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am the founder of Lovelux, a boutique lifestyle company that curates luxurious, transformative experiences for women solo and/or those around them such as partners and their sister village that are seeking connection, self-discovery, and soul-deep joy. What sets Lovelux apart is our intentional blend of lifestyle, leisure, and luxury—rooted in empowerment and self love. Whether it’s through curated travel, romantic getaways, sensual experiences, or our signature “Journey of You” framework, we don’t just plan events or trips—we design experiences that help you become HER, the highest version of yourself.

Getting to where I am today has been anything but easy. As a mother, wife, counselor, and entrepreneur, I’ve had to balance personal and professional roles while pushing through moments of self-doubt, financial risk, and burnout. I overcame those challenges by leaning into my purpose, surrounding myself with aligned community, and remembering that everything I create is not just for me—it’s for the woman who’s been told to shrink, to settle, or to wait. I also learned to embrace rest as a part of success, to ask for help, and to build systems that support not just my goals but my well-being.

One of my proudest moments is seeing clients come alive during a Lovelux experience—watching them reclaim their worth, reconnect with their partners, or fall in love with themselves again. That’s when I know I’m walking in my purpose.

What I want the world to know is that Lovelux isn’t just a brand—it’s a movement. A movement that honors the everyday woman’s complexity, beauty, and brilliance, and reminds her that she is worthy of luxury, leisure, and love right now, not someday. My story is still unfolding, but every chapter is written with intention, grace, and a crown.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting, I would take her to all the places that awaken her—the kind that make her gasp in awe, stir her spirit, and even tap into senses she didn’t know she had. This wouldn’t just be a trip; it would be an immersive, soul-shifting experience designed to celebrate her, ground her, and light her up.

Day 1: We’d start with a luxury check-in at a serene boutique hotel or private villa with aromatherapy waiting in the room, plush robes, and a view that speaks. That night, we’d indulge in a chef’s tasting dinner at a hidden gem restaurant—think dim lighting, soft music, and flavors that linger long after the meal is over.

Day 2: A sunrise meditation or sound bath followed by a sensual self-care workshop or spa session that includes a deep soak, steam room, and body wrap. We’d top it off with lunch at a garden café and a golden hour photoshoot capturing her in her element—soft, radiant, and alive.

Day 3: A day trip to the wine country or a coastal escape—complete with a private wine and charcuterie pairing, barefoot moments in nature, and a jazz set in an intimate venue to close the evening. It’s all about textures, tastes, and tones.

Day 4: We’d tap into creativity—maybe a luxury candle-making or art class, paired with curated mocktails or wine. Dinner would be rooftop style with city lights, laughter, and deep conversations.

Day 5: A luxurious shopping stroll through a local artisan market or small high-end boutiques, then a styled picnic in a scenic park or beachfront with pillows, music, and a playlist made just for her.

Day 6: We’d turn inward—a session in an affirmations room or visit a wellness space that incorporates journaling, breathwork, and a “Make Love to Yourself” guided experience. That evening, we’d dress in our finest and dance somewhere unexpected—just because we can.

Day 7: Slow and sacred. A farewell brunch at a restaurant that feels like art—beautiful plating, flowing champagne, and good vibes. We’d end the trip with a quiet moment at a scenic overlook, giving thanks for the joy, the magic, and the sisterhood.

Because when she visits me, I don’t just want her to feel like a guest—I want her to remember who she is. Fully. Boldly. Luxuriously.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without a doubt, my journey wouldn’t be what it is without the unwavering love and foundation of my family—especially my parents and siblings, who taught me resilience, compassion, and how to lead with purpose. As a child of Deaf adults (CODA), I’ve been deeply shaped by Deaf culture, and I want to honor the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community for instilling in me the value of inclusion, advocacy, and authentic communication.

Professionally, I’m grateful for every woman who dared to live out loud and inspired me to do the same. I also want to recognize my tribe—the clients, colleagues, and co-creators who believed in Lovelux and helped shape it into the boutique lifestyle brand it is today. Lastly, to every woman balancing motherhood, career, love, and self—you are my why. Your journey, your evolution, and your need to be seen, celebrated, and crowned is the heartbeat of everything I create.

Most importantly I want to thank my husband and children, who are my greatest motivations and my safe place. Their love, patience and belief in my vision continue to ground me and give me strength to keep building.
